As the wind whipped at the bottom of her cloak Hermione Granger pulled her scarf up and ran back into the castle. Coming back from a Care of Magical Creatures lesson, she was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to sleep in her warm bed, but she couldn't because she had to go to double potions. Double potions meant double the time she had to sit next to him. With his hair so blonde it was almost white and his arrogant way of thinking everything was about him, Hermione couldn't help but hate him. Add in the fact that he was constantly picking on Harry and Ron, she had to hate him.

Snape apparently thought it was be humorous to put her and Draco together, as he had done yesterday. When Hermione protested Snape took points away and threatened her with detention. Racing around the corner Hermione jumped into her seat right as Snape started class. He shot her an evil glare but, seeing as she technically wasn't late he couldn't do much else.

"Today you will be concocting the 'Draught of the Living Death'," Snape said "with your partners." He added looking at Hermione and Draco with a grin on his face. Draco got up to get the supplies and Hermione looked through her potions book to find the directions when Draco came back.

"Just sit there and do nothing and I'll get you a good grade. I don't want you blowing us up." Hermione said quite rudely to Draco.

"Whatever you say Granger, but your dirty blood will make the potion blow up more than anything I'd do" said Draco burning with rage at the thought of someone telling him what to do. She looks beautiful when she's so content on something Draco thought. Did I really just think that? I must be going crazy. Father would be so mad if he finds out I ever had that thought. She's a mudblood! But… after all these years of watching her is it the right time to make my move?

"Malfoy? Malfoy? Earth to Malfoy!" Hermione screamed in his ear, shaking him out of him momentary trance. "What?" he yelled, trying not blush at ht thoughts that were running through his mind.

After what seemed like an eternity, class was over and Hermione ran up to her common room to grab her favorite seat by the fireplace to work on the essay that Snape had given them to work on. It was times like these that Hermione liked most, when everything was quiet and she could be left alone with her thoughts, which for some reason, kept going back to Draco.
