"I trust these people will die as miserably as possible."
"Of course."
"Good!" the green-haired man shouted, slamming his glass on the table, shattering it. "Then we have a deal?"
"Of course." The second man smiled as he last saw the chalk white face.
Commissioner Gordon made another cup of tea before going to head back into his office, passing the receptionist on the way.
"Will you be leaving soon, Commissioner?" she asked.
"With this case, I'll be here 'til 6 tomorrow morning."
"The kidnappings?"
"The kidnappings. It wouldn't be Joker, he prefers to kill. Deathstroke is sitting in Blackgate, Ivy has motive, but very little means without leaving huge amounts of evidence. Bane's out of town and Scarecrow wouldn't be able to."
"Unless two, or more of them are working together. Maybe Joker and Bane, shipping the victims out of town to a venom plant or something."
"Nah, last time they worked together, Joker tried to run off with billions of dollars' worth of steroids. After that, Bane wouldn't trust Joker to transport a cup of tea." The old man paused to take a sip of his own tea before continuing. "Although maybe Scarecrow and Joker, Crane doesn't have his toxin ready for mass-use yet, as we saw at Arkham back in '09 and we've had quite a few people go missing in the past few years. Very few are confirmed kidnappings, though but if he could perfect it… What do you think?" He turned as he asked her, only to see her asleep. Gordon checked the time. Two in the morning. Great. He tried to wake her up. Heavy sleeper. He couldn't just leave her here. He decided to try and carry her down to his car and drive her home.
He managed to get the receptionist in the back of the car and get in himself before he heard a click of a gun.
"Don't move." The commissioner froze. "If you want to get out of here alive, I suggest you do exactly as I say. Get out of the car and put your hands behind your back." Gordon did as he was told and was handcuffed. "Good. Now get in the back with the girl." That was all the commissioner remembered before blacking out.
