It billowed out of her in waves, bubbling with little ruffles, as white as a cloudy day and yet so much cuter, fluffier, purer.
Nino's breath caught in his throat, and he wasn't entirely sure why the groom was supposed to stand here waiting when all that he wanted to do was rush out to meet her. As caramel and sunset orange as the top part of her gown gleamed, hitting the light, and stalling all of Nino's thoughts in a single stop.
There was nothing revealing about her dress, and yet all the more, he wanted to pull her closer into a kiss and kiss her like it was their first one all over again. Nino's head felt dizzy under his rush of nerves, and he half wanted to adjust his tie or remove it as if it were the cause of all of his lost air and not the stunning woman that was slowly walking down the aisle to greet him, guided by her father's steady hand.
"Marinette." Left his throat in a strangled whisper that the priest shot a quick glance at him for and yet there was nothing judging about the look, and Nino almost wanted to straighten up and grow more confident under the stare and yet his eyes found Marinette all over again.
The white ruffles of her dress managed to look so soft where they fell from about her waist and down, down in soft, almost downy feather like ruffles; he could imagine that it would feel like petting a duck to brush his fingers along the ruffles and yet there was something just so innocent and yet all her about it that didn't make him doubt that touching a ruffle or two would feel like so much more, feel so close to her, and knowing that Marinette is in his arms.
Every step ruffled her gown as she moved closer, and yet, Nino could only focus on her, not seeing the intricate bow on the back, not unlike wings unfolding from her back.
Nino was eager for the formality in a way to die down, so that he could enjoy every moment beside his soon to be wife's side, so that he could hold her close, and not feel eyes bore into them. He didn't mind the guests that they'd invited: old school friends, close family, coworkers, and the like. Nino just wanted a moment for this all to sink in and not float so far away, a moment just for the two of them to realize just how much this day meant for their future.
It meant the world to realize that this beautiful woman that was walking down the aisle to join him was soon to be his wife, live in the same house as him, sleep in the same bed, eat the same meals, and whatever else that entailed.
Nino couldn't help but feel like he was luckiest man in the world as Marinette finally stepped closer, and he reached out for her hand, gently gloved, and as his eyes met beautiful blue bell ones for what would hopefully lead into forever.
