Tom of the Leaky Cauldron grinned widely. Those around him saw the toothless grin and stared curiously at the omni-present barkeep. Of all the years Tom had first worked at then owned the Leaky Cauldron, none of the patrons had ever seen the older man this happy.

Tom watched Hagrid tug young Harry Potter towards the entrance to Diagon Alley. Ah, the boy was going to feel such wonder. Diagon did that to a soul, even to one as accustomed to it as Tom. The Alley was always full of life. There was a saying in the Wizarding World that if Diagon Alley ever went still, then the life they knew, the magic they knew, would come to an abrupt halt. So everyone from Bertha Jorkins to the Weasley clan kept Diagon moving…

But not even the wonder and awe and legends of the Alley had any impact on the old barkeep's brain. He watched the huge man tap the bricks and the archway come into view. He watched as Harry Potter, Savior of the Wizarding World, the Boy-Who-Lived, only eleven years old, entered the world of magic and thought,
