If you know my story Will the circle be unbroken? then you will enjoy this. This a prequel of the story, set in 1885, London. You may see familiar faces... Victorian Doppelgangers must protect the circle.
London, 1885
Two dark figures walked down the street. They were dressed in dark clothing with hoods on their faces. They stopped near an abandoned looking building that was glamoured from mundane eyes and entered it.
The men took off their hoods. They were identical - bright blue eyes and messy black hair. Only one of them was a vampire, and the other was a werewolf. Never a good combination, they say...
They entered the living room of the building. It was lit with candles, and on the seating sat a warlock woman with blue eyes and long black hair. She was truly beautiful - and as a warlock she didn't seem to have a mark. She eyed two men with a smile. She wasn't taunting them - quite the opposite. She was glad her brothers were here.
"What happened, Rachel?" the vampire asked. "Your letter arrived in a rush. You said it was crucial for us to be here."
Rachel smiled at the man.
"I may have been a little silly. No, no one's life is endangered, I just thought you and Nico would've want to see this."
Nico the werewolf looked around.
"See what?" the his eyes widened. "Do I smell another warlock?"
The vampire looked at Rachel incredulously.
"You've found him?"
Rachel gave the men a triumphant smile.
"I did, Isaac. My fallen warlock brother Noah died four years ago... And I've found the next warlock doppelganger."
Rachel stood up and led them out of the room. She slowly opened the door to a small room that was decorated nicely. On a bed in the room lied a small figure - a boy that couldn't be older then four. His chest went up and down in ragged breaths.
Rachel glanced at Nico and Isaac.
"Brothers... Meet Mercer Ride."
Will Herondale was in trouble. His wife, Tessa, was going to kill him.
He lost James. Again.
His son, James Herondale, wasn't hard to miss. He was quite lively, dark haired, and golden eyed child. He was a troublemaker, and according to Will's mother, James was just like his father.
However, James wasn't an ordinary child. He was a Shadowhunter. Not just that. His mother was half warlock and he inherited some... interesting qualities from her.
Will scouted the Blackfriars Bridge, where he last saw him.
"Looking for something?"
Will turned around abruptly. His senses sharpened immediately, he was ready for combat.
"Now, now. No need to fight. I found him for you."
"Daddy!"
Little James crashed at Will's legs. His eyes were sparkling.
Will looked up at the man that brought his son back. His eyes widened at the sight... How..?
Will knew that James couldn't see well through the glamour. He still haven't received his Voyance rune.
But Will could see through the glamour. And he didn't know how to explain the fact that this man was identical to him.
The copy of Will bowed slightly.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Mister Herondale. My name is Fall."
