The bus slowed down and came to a stop in front of the girl who was leaning against the stop sign with a tired look on her face.

Olivia slung her purple backpack over her shoulder as she stepped onto the bus. She stumbled down the isle of the crowded bus and found out that the back row was empty.

She sat down, put on her headphones and started playing a song from her phone. The song was one of Olivia's favorites and it was Unbreakable by Jamie Scott. (Video is above if you've never heard it)

She swept her long black bangs behind her ear and looked out the window of the bus.

She had just moved all the way from Denver Colorado, to Los Angeles California. She didn't know why her mom decided to suddenly move across the country, especially in her Freshman year of high school. Moving to the other side of the country was definitely hard for Olivia, mostly because she had to leave Mary behind, the only best friend she ever had. It wasn't like Mary was only an hours drive away. It took over a day to get from Alabama to California driving and neither of them could drive or afford a plane ticket. So they were stuck talking on the phone during the time in between Olivia's guitar lessons and Mary's cheer and Quiz Bowl practice.

Olivia looked at the sun coming above the clouds. The sky looked like it had been painted purple, which was her favorite color. (If you couldn't tell by the cover of the book)

She had zoned out listening to her song and she hadn't even realized that the bus had stopped to let some kids on. Two boys came to the back of the bus and sat next to her, since there were no other seats left. She turned her music up, hoping they would just ignore her.

"Hi." One of them said. "My name is Adam."
