All I did was listen to a song and I got this idea!

My inspiration came from Within Temptation's song, Promise. So I hope you enjoy. The lyrics are from the song!

she no longer sleeps

Her eyes remained open. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't sleep. She hadn't had a good night sleep in weeks. He haunted her thoughts and wouldn't leave her mind.

Life no longer had meaning
Nothing to make her stay
She sold her soul away

She wasn't the same girl as before. Her smile had disappeared along with her happiness. He left her. He had been gone for 2 months. Naruto made a promise. A promise to bring him back. He swore that he would, and he tried and tried, but failed every time. She clung to that promise in hopes that it would bring her love back. In hopes that she could see him again. Just one glance, just one touch. That's all she needed. She had to know…was he alright?

I held you tight to me
but you slipped away

She held the memories of him in her heart. She played them over in her head and never noticed the tears that it brought. He was always with her, even if she couldn't feel him. She could see him…in her mind.

You promised to return to me
and I believed, I believed

Still, almost three years after he left, the promise of a lifetime never was fulfilled. He was still no where around. He never returned to the village, to her. She was starting to loose hope. She tried to move on with her life but the pain just wouldn't go away.

After the night he died
I wept my tears until they dried
but the pain stayed the same

She felt determined to find him though. And as she was on a mission to find him, she stumbled across something. His battle cry rang out through the forest she was searching in. She desperately ran towards it, feeling her heart swell at the thought of seeing him again.

But as she made it to the clearing, she felt her heart break and her eyes pooled with tears. He was on the ground. He wasn't moving. And his killer merely kicked his body over and chuckled at his blank face.

She couldn't help it as she cried his name. She didn't care if she was noticed. She knew what she was doing was suicide, but she just couldn't stop herself.

I didn't want him to die all in vain
I made a promise to revenge his soul in time
I'll make them bleed at my feet

Pain washed over her and she was suddenly down on the ground next to his body. She clutched her stomach and gasped for breath. She glared up at the killer. His older brother. The reason he left. Everything was that man's fault. Absolutely everything.

"I'll kill you." She said harshly. Her eyes flashed angrily and she attempted to stand. He knocked her back down easily though. "I'll take revenge for what you did."

He would pay. Somehow.

In one sudden movement, she dropped down to the dirt floor, unmoving. Her eyes slowly closed as she took one last look at the world. And at him. She would be with him soon. In only one moment. She took one last breath and muttered "I will have revenge."

Sometimes I wonder
could I have known their true intentions?
As the pain stayed the same
I'm going to haunt them down all the way

One by one they were surprised

Sakura would have revenge. That was her promise to him. To Sasuke.
