"So what exactly happens at a harvest party on Themyscira?" pondering out loud asked Pamela Isley, the woman also known as Poison Ivy.
"What do you mean?", says Wonder Woman unsure of the question, as her and Ivy walked down the mountain together to attend the special harvest party carefully prepared by her mother, the queen of Themyscira. Diana thought this was Poison Ivy after all and surely she knew what a harvest parties were all about.
"Well this IS Themyscira, correct? All strong powerful incredibly gorgeous women enjoying food and drink and a chance to be merry, all without the company of men" says Ivy matter-of-factly yet with a sultry smile.
Wonder woman smiles and puts one hand one Ivy's shoulder, now knowing fully well what Ivy truly meant by her question. "What happens on Paradise Island, stays on Paradise Island?", Diana said confidently.
"Well… again my kind of party." Ivy said giving Diana a wink. As they got closer to their destination they were soon greeted by her mother's guards who continue to escort them the rest of the way to the harvest celebration. They had rolled out all the special arrangements for the new guest on the island. As they began to approach the event's entrance, they could hear the music playing and the smell of a wonderful meal being prepared in their honor. The island was full of activities happening. Some of the island's most skilled musicians were playing tunes on their string instruments, women were spear fishing for food, and others were bringing wheel barrels upon barrels of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables. Ivy looked on in amazement by the wonderful sight of it all. She was interrupted by her gazing as Diana's mother came rushing towards them with her arms widely out to greet them.
"Diana, my daughter", the queen said as she gives her daughter a big hug. As she puts one hand on Diana's face, "I was so worried."
"I am here now, Mother. And I am okay. Ivy and I actually made quite the team", Diana said squarely looking over at Pamela with a smile.
"And you my Dear, I want to thank you so much for saving my daughter and our island. I am so sorry we got off on the wrong footing before. You are Diana's friend after all. It's nice to know she has such good friends looking out for her", said the queen addressing Ivy for the first time.
Ivy and Diana just looked at each other a bit awkwardly. Ivy was never really Wonder Woman's friend. They were just the opposites in fact. Diana was a friend and occasional lover of Batman, Ivy's sworn enemy. Even though Ivy rarely went toe to toe with Wonder woman herself, a friend of her enemy pretty much automatically makes you an enemy in their world. Ivy just gave the queen a tight smile, not wanting to ruin the mood for everyone. Normally Ivy could care less about ruining moods whenever she is around a group of people. In fact she loved to be the bearer of all sorts of sarcastic comments to make everyone uncomfortable but she figured why chance it. This was her first time on Themyscira after all and she was really wanting to see all the island had to offer.
"At first I was terribly afraid for Diana to go off to the outside world. The nature of man is after all wicked, disloyal and above all untrustworthy." Said the queen.
"I completely agree", Pam said flatly addressing the queen with a grin. "Why, Diana. You never told me how incredibly delightful of a woman your mother was", this time it was Ivy put a hand on Diana's shoulder and looked Wonder Woman in the eyes.
"Yes I'm sure you of all people love her words", Diana accepted the playful joke being shared. Then all the women broke out in laughter.
"Now let us feast", the queen all but ordered for them to follow her as they made their way into the outdoor banquet area.
