Title comes from The Ramones song 'Sheena is a Punk Rocker', which like Heroes, I do not own. I don't own any of the bands or albums mentioned either. Well, I do own copies of some albums, but that's the extent of it. I swear! Enjoy!

Emma is a Punk Rocker

As Peter Petrelli walked the hallway that led to his apartment door he was hit with the unmistakable sound of The Ramones.

He quickly pulled out his key and entered the apartment. What he found was his girlfriend Emma sitting cross legged in his newly furnished living room. She had dragged him to IKEA and picked out a new couch, arm chair and coffee table. Said coffee table was covered in Peter's old CDs, dug out from the top of his closet, and an even older, slightly battered CD player sat amongst them.

Emma was sitting on the floor in front of the CD player, her gaze seemingly fixed on nothing. Peter knew she was watching the lights, the colours he could no longer see.

She held The Ramones Anthology case in her hand. That particular CD was a Christmas present from Nathan a few years ago. A memory of 'Peter's miss-spent youth' Nathan had laughed. Peter had been sixteen been he discovered The Ramones. Much to the annoyance of his parents. Arthur Patrelli had rarely approved of much in Peter's life, and the 'noise' was simply to much for Angela to bare.

The song changed and Peter sat opposite Emma, giving her a small smile. "Never pegged you for a Ramones fan?" He said over the music, knowing she only needed to read his lips.

She dropped the CD case into her lap and signed back to him. 'It's pretty.'

"The Ramones?" He laughed. He had never considered them as 'pretty' before.

"Yes." Emma nodded once. She searched through the CDs and held up a copy of The Sex Pistol's Never Mind the Buzzcocks and handed it to him. 'This was nice too, but The Ramones are definitely the prettiest so far.' She handed him a copy of System of a Down's Toxicity. "This was bad." She grinned.

"I'd imagine so." Peter laughed and tossed the CD back on the pile. The CD had been a gift from his college roommate Danny, but Peter had hated it. He smiled at the fact that he and Emma had smiliar tastes in music, even if she couldn't hear the songs.

Emma reached forward and turned the CD player off. "You think I'm crazy, right?"

"I've met crazy people. You're fine." Peter stood up and walked to sit beside her.

"It is pretty." She told him.

"I believe you." Peter reached forward and plucked a CD from the mess. "Here. You might like this." He opened the disk drawer and changed the CDs.

The sound of The Strokes Is This It filled the room and Emma gave Peter a wide smile. "A new favourite." He kissed him on the side of the mouth and then pulled back. 'Thank you.'

'You're welcome.' Peter placed his arm around her shoulder and pulled her to him. Emma laid her head on his shoulder and lifted her gaze, while Peter closed his own eyes.

Peter reminiscing about his college years, listening to the songs that had defined him at age twenty one.

Emma watching the lights that surrounded her, still amazed by her gift and the gift it brought her in Peter.

Peter turned and dropped a kiss on the crown of her head and then grinned to himself, letting his head fall back to rest on the seat of the couch.

The Ramones were pretty. It was possibly the best thing he'd heard all day.

Reviews are wonderful.
