A/N: I know, I keep giving you one-shots, but I just can't commit myself to a long, drawn out story like 'Bliss' which, by the way, I can't wait to read the rest of XD
PLEASE NOTICE that Matt and Kate have split up. You're welcome. Anyways, enjoy! R/R
Dom Howard awoke to the muffled sound of crying. They were staying in a hotel not far from the sight of the festival they had played at earlier that day. 12:00, the clock read. He normally wouldn't be asleep this early, but they had all been exhausted after the evening's activities.
The crying had not stopped and he wondered who it could be. He slowly got out of bed and tiptoed out of his room, into the hall. He didn't have to follow the sounds very long, and he soon found himself in the room to the right of his. Wait, is that a baby crying, Dom wondered to himself.
That's when he remembered it was Matt's weekend with his baby, and he had taken Bing back to the hotel after the gig. It took his still-sleepy brain a moment to realize that this was, indeed, the new father's room.
"Matt?" he called through the door. "Are you in there?" He tried the door knob and was surprised to find that it opened easily. As serious as the situation was, Dom couldn't help but hold back a laugh.
Bing was lying on the bed, crying its poor heart out. And Matt, bless him, was crying as well, balled up against the wall. "Matt?" Dom asked.
"I can't do it, Dom. It won't… it won't… shut up." He wailed.
"No, no, no. Don't say it like that, it's a baby. It's going to cry. Here, maybe it needs a diaper change."
"I already tried that," the singer answered gloomily, sniffing.
"Perhaps he's hung-"
"I tried that too."
"Well… maybe he just needs a hug from Uncle Dominic," the blonde said as he reached for the still wailing baby. As soon as Bing was in his arms, he stopped crying.
Matt hopped up. "Why can't I do that? How did you do that?"
"Here," Dom handed Bing to him. "You try." Matt sniffed again and took the baby in his arms, and he began to cry again.
"Ugg!" Matt said as a tear slipped down his cheek. He was frustrated and sleepy, and just wanted to go to bed.
"Well good Lord, Matt. I'd cry too if you were holding me like that. Here, hold him like this…" he adjusted Bing properly into his father's arms, and backed away to look at his masterpiece. He smiled, proud of his work.
Neither of them were crying anymore, and Matt was gently bouncing the little boy in his arms. "Dom, you're a miracle worker."
"I know," he yawned. "Do you think you can handle it for the rest of the night, or do you need me to take him?"
"I'm good. Thanks a bunch."
"'Welcome. 'Night," he yawned again.
"Mmm…" Matt mumbled, feeling himself falling asleep like the little baby he was currently rocking. After several more minutes, he was sure Bing was fast asleep, and placed him in his bed. "There, we go."
Sighing in relief when he heard no crying, he tiptoed over to his bed, and crawled under the covers. He was already drifting off when his head hit the pillow. Just one more minute and he'd be-
"Waa!"
Matt's eyes welled up with tears off frustration and exhaustion.
"UNCLE DOMINIC! WE NEED YOU!"
