Chapter One: Aged 11
Alexia Malfoy combed her hair silently. It was the day she would be going to Hogwarts. Yes, she was excited. Yes, she couldn't wait, but for now she felt slightly empty. Her mother, Narcissa, sighed sadly at her youngest daughter. "Are you excited, Alexia?" she asked, putting on a fake smile. "Of course I am. How is Raven?" Alexia responded. Narcissa's smile faded, "She'll live. She'll be fine." Narcissa muttered.
"Are you glad to be allowed to go to Hogwarts?" Lucius asked, icily, "Of course, you aren't up to my standard, but good grades and the right house should fix that, right, Narcissa?" Narcissa nodded, silently. Alexia rolled her eyes. "Whatever, Father." She snapped. She ran back up to her room and slammed the door.
Draco smirked as Alexia struggled with her trunk. "Does Mistress Alexia-Catherine require Dobby's help? Dobby would be glad to give Dobby's help!" Dobby squeaked. Alexia nodded gratefully. "
"COME ON, ALEXIA-CATHERINE!" Lucius roared. Alexia rushed to him. He apparated her and Draco, "I love apparition!" Draco laughed. Alexia shook her head. Draco sneered at her, "You're always so disagreeable!" He snapped. Alexia rushed on, ignoring him.
"O-oh, I didn't realize somebody else was here!" A small girl stuttered as she entered Alexia's compartment. Alexia shrugged, "You can stay. I'm Alexia Ma- just Alexia." She introduced herself. "I'm Jessie. So… First year as well?" she asked, cautiously. Alexia seems very closed off. Is everything alright with her, I wonder… Jessie mused.
"So, you excited?" Jessie asked. Alexia shrugged. She hadn't answered a single question from Jessie. "Um, okay then. I'm crazy excited. It's so strange, because my parents aren't magical." Jessie babbled, hardly noticing Alexia's hurried departure.
"FIRS' YEARS OVER 'ERE!" Rubeus Hagrid shouted. Alexia walked over to him and clambered into a boat with Jessie, Draco and… Raven? Yes, Draco was supporting a half-conscious Raven on his shoulder! "I'm the only one allowed to take care of her… Unless you qualify for Slytherin." Draco snapped. The arrived on the shore and climbed out again. Raven mumbled something and her eyes snapped open, but they were glassy and unseeing.
"Neaten yourselves up before going into the Great Hall!" The stern woman 'suggested', but it was more like a command. She waited until the group stopped fussing. Draco was talking to The Boy Who Lived. Wait. The Boy Who Lived! Alexia's eyes widened, but all too soon, the name, "MALFOY, ALEXIA-CATHERINE!" Was yelled.
Left out and alone, eh? The hat whispered, You find solace with Raven, but fail to share the same views. You would do well in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart. You don't realize that. You would do excellently in all the houses…
"SLYTHERGRYFFRAVEPUFF!" The hat screamed. Everyone stared. Dumbledore stood up, worriedly, "Miss Malfoy, please sit up at the staff table for now." He said. Alexia complied. Draco gaped at her.
"Miss Malfoy," Dumbledore started, "This has happened once before with your great-great-great-great-great grandmother. She had traits for all houses and she used them for good. You will be given your own dorm to save rivalry with other houses."
Alexia's head was reeling.
Was she really that special?
