Crooked House
Chapter 1: The Silent House
The Doctor was fideling away at his controls, Amy was gone, Christmas had brought news of baby joy for both her and Rory. It made the Doctor feel upset, Amy was no longer going to travel with him and this baby news brought memories of the Doctors own children, but now was not the time to dwell on the past. Looking at the music he decided to put it on shuffle, suddenly a flute rift alerted him to the song Down Under, by Men at Work, an Australian band. Smiling his mind was made up, a little trip to the land down under would be a nice holiday destiation. And so he set the TARDIS to Sydney 2010.
As he landed he looked around at the city, it's beauty and grace was always a wonderful thing, seeing as he was always stuck in London, the weather could not compare. He walked around the town, going down to Bennelong point to see the Opera House, and was planning an afternoon bridge climb on the Harbour bridge. But before he did he decided lunch was in order, and walked all the way to the Rocks.
As he got to a resturant he saw some children playing in the street, sadly however their toy had become broken.
"Hey, are you kids alright. Do you want me to fix that for you?"
"Um, hello mister."
"I'm the Doctor, how about I take a look at that doll."
"Sorry Sir, but the batteries don't work."
"I know, I'll fix that." He grabbed his sonic screwdiriver and fixed it.
"Oh wow, thanks Doctor" The children chimed as he smiled
"Well what's your name, may I ask."
The lest shy of the children introduced herself. "I'm Taylor, this is Jay and Michelle."
"Well Taylor I have a very important question for you. Why is there no one at that house?"
He pointed to the one at the end of the street, fear crossed the faces of the children.
"We're not allowed to go there, the people that live there are not our friends."
"Well it doesn't look like it's been lived in."
"It's a house of ghosts." The little one called Jay said
"It's the house of silence." Cried Michelle, as she broke down. The children grouped together and hurried away, the Doctor watching them leave.
It seemed to the doctor that the house of silence should be investigated.
