Prologue: Hunting a Murderer
There was never a body, just an empty casket surrounded by grief-stricken friends and relatives. That makes seven victims now, Yami thinks to herself while watching as the funeral procession makes its way down the street to the cemetery. Standing on the rooftop, Yami looks out at the city. I have to stop this killer because I can't let this murderer have the chance to threaten my friends. A smile flickers across Yami's face as she thinks of her friend, Mikan. Worrying about her friends, Yami reviews all she knows about the murders in her head. Without a body, I can't distinguish how the people were killed, but there's no question that each victim no longer living, the amount of blood at the scene of each murder can testify to that. Still, I need to find a way to identify the killer before him or her or whatever it is kills again. Yami sighs and decides the best course of action for today. Well, the only thing I can do right now is go back to scanning the crowds below for suspicious people. Now filled with conviction and worry, Yami returns to watching the people walking on the streets below from her rooftop lookout.
