This was inspired by the song on my profile. If you want to hear it, it's the same as the title of the story. Please enjoy it and review for me. This is another of my writer's block stories.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag. Of the United States of America. And to the Republic, for which it stands, under nations, under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all." They did the daily prayer before every class. Brittany huffed as she lowered her hand, staring at the flag.
"What's wrong, Brittany?" Alvin asked.
"That's it?" She asked. Alvin looked confused. "That's all we have to thank for our freedom?" She looked at him. He shrugged and looked at the flag.
"That's it." He stated with a simple shrug. She sighed.
"I wish we could give more." She said as she sat down. Alvin sat next to her in his chair. She let out a breath and rested her chin in her hand, looking at the flag again. She sang softly so only Alvin could hear her. "If tomorrow all the things were gone, I'd hoped for all my life, and I had to start again with just my family by my side. I'd thank my God above to be livin' here today." Alvin looked over at her and smiled. She let her voice grow as she continued. "'Cause the flag still stands for freedom. And they can't take that awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!" By now all the class could hear, though when they sang, they only listened.
Alvin joined Brittany, "I'm proud to be an American! Where at least I know I'm free."
"And I won't forget the men who died! Who gave that right to me!" Brittany sang. "And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today! Cause there ain't no doubt I love this laaand! God bless the USAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" She paused for a few seconds, staring with love at the flag. "From the lakes of Minnesota. To the hills of Tennessee." She stated softly.
"Across the plain of Texas. From sea to shining sea." Alvin joined softly. "From Detroit down to Houston."
"And New York to LA!" Brittany sang.
"There's pride in every American heart! And its time we stand and saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!" Alvin sang.
"Time we stand and saaaaaaaaaaaaay!" Brittany sang with him.
"I'm proud to be an American! Where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died! Who gave that right to me! And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this laaaaaaaand! God bless the USAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
"I'm proud to be an American!" Alvin sang softly.
"I'm proud to be an American. Where at least I know I'm free." They sang together.
"And I won't forget the men who died! Who gave that right to me! And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand! God bless the USAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Oh ooh!" Brittany sang.
"I'm proud to be an American!" Alvin sang.
"God bless the USA." She sang softly. "God bless the USAaaaaaa!" She ended softly and the class applauded the two of them. Alvin smiled and clapped for her. She smiled.
"Very well done you two." The teacher said over the clapping as she stood in front of them. "How about I recommend that song as a weekly thing, to show our appreciation for all we've been given." Brittany's eyes lit up and she nodded instantly.
"That'd be great!" She looked at Alvin. "As long as Alvin sings with me." Alvin smiled and nodded instantly as well. She looked back at the teacher and said, "Definitely!" The teacher chuckled and nodded.
