Not All Rainy Days Are Gloomy
By Chibinaoka

Takeru's feet unintentionally splashed every puddle he came across as he ran down the street. He didn't care that his whole body was getting soak from the pouring rain. All he could think about was Hikari and what she had said urlier.

It was after school and the downpour that had started that morning still hadn't stopped. The rain had made the day seem slow and many felt gloomy because of it. Both Takeru and Hikari felt a little down because of the weather and had spent more time together just the two of them then usual. They were standing at the door looking outside after school when Hikari turned around to face Takeru.
"There's no body in this world I care more about then you, Takeru."
Hikari had said those words smiling. Opening her umbrella, she slowly headed out into the pouring rain. Takeru stood there thinking about what she said. At first he was a little surprised and shocked by her words. He stood there trying to sort out the mixed feelings brewing inside of him. His umbrella fell to the floor as he realised the true meaning of her words and the feelings inside of himself.

All this had let to where Takeru was now: running after Hikari. He had to reach her, she couldn't be very far. Turning a corner, he came to a halt. There she was, standing, waiting for the signal to change to indicate she could cross the street. Takeru didn't even take the time to catch his breath, he simply ran towards her.

"Hikari!"
Hikari jumped at the sound of her name being shouted by a familiar voice. She turned around to see Takeru running towards her. By the time he arrived face to face with her, he was soaking wet. His cloths and his hair clinged to his skin.
"Takeru! You're going to catch a cold."
Hikari frowned with worry and moved closer to Takeru to shield him from the rain with her umbrella. Both Hikari and Takeru stood very close to one another under underneath the small umbrella and looked into each other's eyes. Hikari blushed when Takeru put his hand on top of her own that held the umbrella. He then wrapped his arm around Hikari's waist and pulled her closer. He felt her heart pounding in her chest and he could feel his own pounding just has hard.
"Hikari..." Takeru spoke softly and they were now both blushing deeply.
"Hikari, I love you."
Takeru saw the joy in Hikari's eyes as he said those words. Slowly, he brought his lips to hers and kissed her softly. The kiss overwhelmed them both with a feeling they had never felt before. The feeling was warm, like nothing else but each other mattered. Their grip on the umbrella loosened and it eventually fell to the ground. But they didn't care. Instead of feeling the coldness of the rain, they felt the warmth of their love. Breaking the kiss, Hikari smiled as she looked up at Takeru. She had never felt happier in her life. She was in the arms of the one she loved and that was all that mattered.
"I love you Takeru." Hikari softly whispered as she rested her head on his chest as they hugged.

"I guess not all rainy days are gloomy." Takeru said while resting his head on top of Hikari's.
She smiled.
"No there not."
Takeru and Hikari stood in each other's embrace as the rain gently fell.
