I Want You to Want Me

By Pookie Bear

Tonight was the night. Ron was going to tell Hermione how he felt. He had liked her ever since their first year, and they were currently in their fifth. He loved her. He hadn't told anyone, but he thought everyone knew it. They had shared a few hugs and whatnot, but nothing that Ron recognized as substantial. He loved everything about her, how she looked, how she smiled, even how cute she was when she was angry. He had NEVER talked to her about it. She would most likely say that she didn't like him that way, but by now he was so fed up with her not knowing that he didn't care. He wrote her a note. It said:

Hermione,

Meet me in the Potions Dungeon at 7:00. I NEED to talk to you. Alone.

~Ron

Ron looked at his watch. It was 6:54.

"Shit! I should have left 5 minutes ago!"

Ron raced down to the dungeon (Ron picked the Potions dungeons because it was secluded. Snape was away on 'official Hogwarts business' or so he said. Ron Harry and Hermione had figured he probably took time of to spend 'quality time' with McGonagall 'Eech, Snape?!' was what Ron had said when he found out Snape and McGonagall were going out.) He got there just in time. A minute or so later he heard the door open, and saw Hermione walk in. She looked as if she were wearing make-up, and she had her hair pinned up.

"Uh, Hi Ron," she said, "are you ok?"

"No Hermione, I'm not ok. I need to tell you this; I've been wanting to tell you this for years, literally. Hermione, I think…. I…..I….I….I think I love you." He turned to face her. "You probably think I'm nuts! Herm, you are my very best friend – you and Harry both- and I would never want to jeopardize that, but if you would ever consider dating me, I wouldn't hesitate."

"Ron, uh, how do I say this? You are the best friend I could have ever hoped for. I thought that is all you ever wanted. No, Ron don't look at me like that, I haven't finished. I would never want to not be friends. I don't think I could bear it. ::sigh:: I don't want to end up saying something cheesy like "I've been wanting you to say that forever", but I have. Ron, I think I love you too. Why else would I have let Lavender and Parvati put make-up all over me? I always thought you didn't like me."

"Hermione, come here," Ron pulled her close to him and just held her. He felt himself go all warm and fuzzy. "Can I kiss you?"

Hermione kissed him. Ron took note of how soft her lips were. He'd been wanting to kiss her forever. When they broke apart Ron said, "I'll take that as a yes?"

"Can we go back up to the common room? It is really chilly down here."

"Sure. Here, borrow my cloak for the meantime."

"Thanks."

They held hands on the way up to the common room. It just seemed natural, like they had both always wanted to do that. Ron decided to sit with Hermione in one of the seats and talk for awhile. Hermione fell asleep ad Ron found himself just sitting there with her in his arms and stroking her hair. People that passed them by didn't stare. They had all figured it would happen sooner or later. Eventually Hermione woke up, and they decided to head up to their dorms.

"Aren't you forgetting something?"

"Ron…."

"Like, uh, say your potions homework?"

"Ron, I need that!"

"You will have to pay the goodnight toll, one kiss for one piece of potions homework."

"I would have given you a kiss anyway Ron." Then she turned a little red. "Goodnight Ron. I love you."

She gave him his kiss.

" I love you too Hermione. Goodnight."

……And they lived Happily Ever After.

A/N Ok so I couldn't think of a way to end it. Hope you like it. Please Review. This is my first fic. PLEASE REVIEW!
