[[a/n: Ahem, attention. This is a very short one shot of a side story to a fan fiction I am working on in which the HIVE FIVE attend an arts school, a story purely for the fact that I have decided that Billy Numerous from the Teen Titans was a boy who deserved more love. In the story Kyd Wykkyd, properly named Elliot, has taken up piano, because my mental image of the features under his mask willed it so. Therefor, without further a due... I present to the masses, "His Song".]]
His Song
Elliot pressed his fingers to the white marble keys, the briefest of smiles igniting on his face at the pleasant sound of the first chord of one of his favorite songs.
In a matter of seconds his fingers were soaring over the instrument, as though he'd been doing it all his life, which seemed more truthful as he slowly closed his eyes, allowing the music to envelop him.
The softest of melodies rang out from his new found passion, a complex and deep rhythmic lullaby that filled the air and drifted through the halls.
Where it's notes spun, silence followed, everyone straining to hear the melancholy song that seemed to pour from his fingertips.
Even without the blessing of a voice, Elliot sang, creating beautiful splashes of sound that many only dream of producing, moving accordingly as his fingers danced their way over the keys.
The seconds that passed were a glorious eternity of sound, color and flight that captured the hearts and spirits of all who heard, and even when he finally stopped playing, the softest humming could be heard, even from across the school.
His song.
