"Stolen Moments"
It was those rare moments when she and Roman could be alone that Emery enjoyed best. They were the moments in between, in between class or that rare moment and they were outside school before Roman's curfew at the Sector. In the brief time they had been together their rendezvous had happened exactly twice, once in a place in her car on the far side of town before Roman returned to the Sector, and again in the morning before school when they would steal away down a deserted hallway and make out in the chemistry lab.
It was these rendezvous that happened like clockwork; Roman would slip away when he thought no one was looking and she would follow a few minutes later, or vice versa.
Today she hid in the shelves in the lab which smelled oddly of chemicals and bleach, not the most romantic setting, but she would take what she could get. Then there was Roman as he slipped in behind her as silent as a shadow only making his presence known when he popped up behind her, his hands gently grasping her shoulders, his gentle laughter whispering across her skin along with his nose and lips as they brushed her collarbone.
Then Roman would laugh, the sound ringing of a low timbered amusement deep in his chest. Then they would be kissing again; they were always kissing as if their lips were glued together and no one could ever separate them. Her hands skimmed along his skin, curiously smooth and riddled with the tattoos and birthmark that embroidered the left side of his face and neck.
Her fingers pulled at his short hair (not that he seemed to notice) going from skin to hair and back again. Her fingers sliding in and out from under his clothes; wanting more but unsure of how to proceed. Roman's hands were just as busy, sliding from her neck, to her shoulders and along her curves. He had transitioned from her waist to her butt so quickly she barely noticed… Not that she minded. Everything about them was passionate and intense, it had been ever since that day at the lake when self-preservation and relief had drawn them together and something that had resulted in fireworks.
She wanted to pull him down on the floor and do things to him, what teenage girl wouldn't, but as much as she wanted to she knew now was not the time or place. It would be different if she could take him over to her house and they could spend more time together, but that was always there problem the "if" that was the elephant in the room… IF their species weren't on the brink of all out war.
Finally Roman came up for air, but he didn't pull away, as he caught his breath for a few minutes before speaking.
"We better go-" he panted, "don't want to get caught-the school bell rings in ten minutes."
Emery grinned at him.
"Chicken?" She teased.
"No," Roman replied, "just trying to be the one with my head on straight, and I really don't want to get in trouble with Gloria… No more than I would be anyway." He shrugs another smile overtaking his face his ice blue eyes twinkling.
Emery worked her way around a breath, her fingers still working their way over Roman's skin; her forehead pressed against his; stealing another kiss.
"We better go… They'll be wondering where we are." She reached to pull her school bag from the floor.
Roman chuckled.
"Isn't that what I just said?"
Emery didn't answer as they silently made their way towards the closed door of the chemistry lab; they had just enough time to get to their classes before the first period chemistry class came through the door.
For the only time in her life she would take getting in trouble, she was just another girl making out with her boyfriend (that was without going into particulars) because the stolen moments were all they had.
