She drove, as she had been for hours. Vanessa Universe, daughter of Thomas and Samantha Universe. Her dad left when she was little and her mother had died just a week before. So now she driving to find her uncle and her cousin, Steven. They had never met, but she hoped they'd get along. Greg had told her about the crystal gems and everything that Steven had done. She saw the city and found Her cousin's house. She stepped out and walked up the stairs, carrying one of her bags. A small boy ran out before she could knock.
"I'm Steven, welcome to your new home!" Steven said excitedly.
"Um, I'm Vanessa." Vanessa said, not knowing what else to say.
Vanessa introduced herself to the gems. Steven showed her the barn, where Vanessa said she was okay staying while she was talking over the phone with Greg.
Steven pointed to Lapis and Peridot," These are your roomates, Lapis and Peridot."
"Who's who?"
"Lapis is the taller one and Peridot-"
"HEY STEVEN!" Peridot shouted from the back of the truck which was lodged through the wall.
"Hi Steven, who's she?" Lapis asked as she greeted them.
"I'm Vanessa, I was told that I could live here." Vanessa replied.
"No problem!" Peridot said.
"Come on lets get your bags." Steven said grabbing her hand.
Vanessa looked back at Peridot. She could feel her heart racing. It could only be one thing.
