"Dialogue"

The charred remains of a Gloucester could be seen from the former nobleman's bedroom window. He was one of the unlucky few that survived a vicious assault on the Tokyo Settlement perpetrated by an alien alliance known as the Covenant. They had made their world debut when they blunted a Britannian offensive against the E.U. and declared publicly that Britannia's destruction was the will of their gods and that they were their instruments. The Emperor made a grand speech that amounted to a declaration of war against the Covenant and that they would never take Area Eleven's Sakuradite reserves. This proved to be a very fatal mistake as it lead to a brutal two month long invasion that had resulted in a Covenant victory.

The Covenant first attacked long-range communications stations across the Japanese Archipelago and successfully shut them down to prevent reinforcements from being requested in time. After that, they attacked military bases and laid siege to important Britannian Settlements. They were aided by Japanese insurrectionists who were already fighting Britannia and one by one the sieges were broken in the Covenant's favor as both rebels and Covenant soldiers overran the defenses and weakened the Holy Britannian Empire's grip on Japan. Further bad news came for Britannia as the Black Knights publicly sided with the Covenant invaders. Less than twenty-four hours passed before the Covenant and their allies attacked Tokyo and succeeded in not only capturing the city, but also seizing Viceroy Cornelia li Britannia and her sister Euphemia.

75% of all adult Britannians had been killed during the invasion, and the survivors are now nothing more than slaves to the Covenant military. While the lives of the Japanese improved dramatically, they knew that they had traded one conqueror for another. The former nobleman sighed in defeat as his master, a Sangheili Zealot, walked into the room and the slave began his irritating task of cleaning the house by starting in this room. The Zealot had proved himself to be extremely skilled, having killed the guards before he proceeded to rape the former nobleman's wife. Seeing this firsthand let him know that resistance would only result in death, so the nobleman surrendered and was not only enslaved but his nobility was removed.

Meanwhile at Ashford Academy, many of the students had assembled in the Auditorium when it was announced that Britannia lost the Battle of Tokyo and that the Covenant now controlled Japan. Many students were furious, especially since most had lost loved ones in the Covenant invasion. One of them who was not angry was Lelouch Lamperouge. He had revealed himself as Zero to the Covenant and they had made him an Honorary Sangheili for supporting them. He then entered the Covenant military and was immediately promoted to Zealot, the Covenant leadership impressed by Lelouch's strategic thinking and abilities.

A/N: I fully admit this; I do not like Goldeneyedangel for writing slave fics, but if it wasn't for him I would not have thought of this story.
