It was a Tuesday night, as Piper watched Jason through her window in her cabin as he argued with his girlfriend, Drew Tanaka, and her sister. She was upset at him for saying something that he apparently thought was funny. I was listening to a playlist of songs that I know that Drew didn't like, as I thought about how I knew Jason's story, and Drew probably never will.
Later on, I watched a sword fight take place between Percy and Jason, from the bleachers. There was a little cheerleading squad cheering for Jason, led by, you guessed it, Drew Tanaka. She was wearing a skirt that I personally thought was way to short to be legal, while I was wearing my regular old T-shirts, as I dreamed about the day that Jason finally realized that we belonged together.
If only Jason realized that I understand him more that Drew does. I've been here the whole time for him, while Drew just decided to show up.
After the sword fight, I walked along the outskirts of camp with Jason, who was wearing an orange Camp Half- Blood and his old, worn- out jeans. I loved the thought of how this was supposed to be, how I was supposed to spend my days with him. We stopped to rest on a bench, as I thought of how easy it was to talk to him.
As Jason was talking to me, he smiled so wide that it could light up a whole town. He hasn't smiled like that since Drew and him came back from New Rome. I asked him how he has been, and he said he was fine. Obviously, he was lying, I've known him forever, I can tell. Though, throughout that time, I never dared to ask him the question that had been plaguing me for months, why he was with her.
As Drew found us sitting on the bench, she dragged Jason away, her high heels making tracks on the dirt. I looked at my own shoes, raggedy sneakers. I honestly dreamed of the day that he realized that Drew wasn't right for him. Oh gods, I sound like my sisters! Not a good sign...
Honestly, I've been there for Jason when she hasn't. I don't get what he sees in her!
I remember the one night that Jason had broken up with his first girlfriend, Reyna. He was so heartbroken that I held him until he stopped crying. After, we listened to his favorite songs while he told me about his dreams. I think it was perfectly obvious, he belong with me.
I was talking to Nate, a nice son of Apollo who was just about to ask me out as Jason came running towards me, screaming my name. I excused myself and went to go see what it was about. "Piper, I just broke up with Drew because I realized how much you mean to me. Will you go out with me?" he asked.
"Of course Sparky! You have no idea how long I've wanted you to ask me that," she exclaimed with a happy squeal. They went off to the beach to talk as they realized how much they loved each other, and as they left Piper whispered in Jason's ear,"You belong with me Sparky, you belong with me."
