Dear Diary,

Today wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Cissa and Bella stopped by the manor today to practically show off their engagements. Mother and Father couldn't be happier. I was quite surprised that their faces could crack so much. That...that was rude of me wasn't it? Even though you can't read it, I'm sorry Mother and Father. Back to my bad but turned to good day. After Cissa and Bella left with their fiancés, Mother and Father came to my room to badger me about my lack of courtship. Since I'm the middle child, more is expected of me. I don't see the logic in that, yet here I am.

After they left my room from their scoldings, I sighed and looked out my window to find an owl sitting there patiently. It confused me at first, but I then recognized the colors of its feathers; they were the colors told to me by one of my closest male companions, Lucius. It is odd to call him that at times, given that I don't agree to some of his beliefs. However, I find myself intrigued every time that he and I have a conversation, so getting this owl excited me more than I thought it would.

When I took the letter from the owl and read it, I was smiling from ear to ear. Not from his impeccable way with words, but what his words actually meant: he fancied me! I didn't think it was possible! A girl like me being fancied by a guy like Lucius Malfoy, any girl would wish to be in this position. I would hope to sway some of his thoughts, but one could only hope. It was the greatest news I could tell my parents, and they were pleased to hear it. I just goes to show that just because you took longer than others, doesn't mean you fail. I was the last of my sisters to find someone, and Merlin knows that I won't be the last to laugh with happiness that I obtained without being arranged.

It's time for me to finish for the night. I promised Lucius that we would have a night of discussing Astronomy in the Black gardens.

Eternally Yours,

Andromeda Black.
