Despair,
A Legend of Korra Poem.
I who have travelled across the nations,
Have seen the past,
Have shaped the future,
Have spoken with Avatar's centuries old,
I have mastered my body and my soul,
So I can grasp my destiny.
I who have loved then let it go,
Because my faith would have it so,
I have fought against the fiercest foes,
And almost beaten,
I took their blows,
But found away to rise once more.
And now I find I cannot rise,
I sit here and my despair I try to disguise,
They do their best to understand,
Those who will be with me till the end,
Sometimes I wish they would let me be,
In their faces I can see how they pity me.
My bending days are in the past,
I watch children learn the ancient arts,
There is only one who can master them all,
Who must be prepared to answer a call.
From those benders of earth, water, fire and air,
The Avatar can save the world from despair,
But the chosen one sits in the chair,
And another one cannot be born,
Until this one lives no more.
