A/N - I wrote this up last night, the idea for it was in my head all day after watching the first episode of Season 11. (Season 11 - feels like not so long ago I was eagerly awaiting my Season 6 DVD in the mail!) Just a little bit of fluff, really, Leonard's little hand kiss was cute and injected me with the feels. Hope y'all enjoy :)

"Leonard?"

"Mmm?" He was half asleep already; Penny usually fell asleep faster than he did so he figured something was on her mind. He still had an arm around her, so he gave her hand a squeeze to let her know he was listening.

Hesitating, Penny let herself enjoy the way he was now gently rubbing her hand with his thumb for a while. Her back was pressed into his chest and she had a sudden urge to kiss him, but she was too comfortable to turn around now and it was easier to say what she needed to without looking at him. For some reason it made her nervous; they'd spoken about it before but now that her mind was set she was worried he might not think the same as her when she told him.

"You know how I recently got that promotion at work?"

"Uh-huh."

"I mean, it wasn't that recent, it's been a few months now actually..." Penny was stalling and she knew it.

"Yeah." Leonard smiled into her hair and placed a kiss on the back of her head. She was adorable when she got nervous.

"And now I've really settled into the role, everything has been pretty great. And you just got that huge grant for your project."

"Mmm-hmm?"

Biting her lip, Penny lay quietly for a moment. She opened her eyes and stared into the darkness while she tried to think of the best way to say it, and decided clear and simple was the best way to go. "I feel like I'm ready to have a baby."

Now it was Leonard's turn to open his eyes. "Really?"

"Yeah." Penny wished she could see his face now. Was he smiling, or was he frowning because he wasn't ready for that? "What do you say?"

Closing his eyes again, Leonard moved his hand upwards to rest on Penny's chest. He could feel her heart racing, and placed a few kisses on the back of her neck. "I say lets go for it."

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely."

Enjoying the kisses on her neck, Penny grinned widely into the night and closed her eyes. Slowly, as she relaxed her heart rate calmed down and she brought her hand up to rest over Leonard's on her chest. "I love you so much, Leonard."

"I love you too." Leonard lifted his head slightly and kissed her just below her ear; it wasn't as sensitive as her neck but he knew she liked to be kissed there.

"Mmm." Penny hummed appreciatively. "You're the best."

"I try." Leonard chuckled. "Lets talk about this tomorrow. We're gonna need a lot of energy if we're gonna be making a baby."

"Wow. What are you planning on doing to me, Leonard?" Penny laughed.

"Oh, I didn't mean it quite like that." Leonard squeezed her hand again. "I mean, we'll need to do a lot of planning and thinking and talking... and of course the physical part."

"Can't we just start with the physical part now? I mean, we're already naked."

"How are you not exhausted from what we just did?"

"I am, but... you know me." Penny wiggled her hips into him.

"I do, and while that feels good, I'm still too tired to go for another round and also, don't you need to stop taking your pill first?"

"Oh yeah." Penny sighed. "You're right, we need to do the planning and talking first... but we could practice in the morning? It's a great way to wake up and come to think of it, I'm also too tired to do anything except lie here right now. I'm so comfy."

Smiling, Leonard gave Penny a final kiss on her neck. "Sleep well, Penny."

"You too sweetie. We should probably treasure these calm, baby free nights from now on."
