Anna stared up at her cousin with a sparkling gaze. She crossed her hands behind her back, twirling her fingers together, and gave Rapunzel her best, award-winning smile, before launching into her usual spiel.
"Come on, Rapunzel!"
"Do you wanna paint a muraaaal?
Come on let's go and paaaint.
I know you've got your duuuties, and Eugene,
But it's only for a daaaay~
It gets a little lonely
All those empty rooms
In the castle that I call hooooome~
Come on, Punz! Let's paint a muraaaaaal~
It doesn't have to be a muraaal."
Rapunzel laughed at her cousin's song. "Haha, okay, fiiiine~"
At that, Anna squealed, vividly imagining what they would create together. She knew that whatever it was, it would be beautiful, grand, and colorful. "Ya mean it? Oh, Elsa doesn't know what she's missing!"
"Haha, yeah…" Rapunzel laughed again, her voice seeming to fade off sadly. Anna failed to notice.
Looking down at her, Rapunzel's dark eyes suddenly filled with a hollowing sadness, as she spoke down to Anna with a heavy heart. It ached in remorse for her older sister, Elsa. "Now, you tell your sister next time you see her that I miss her visits, okay?"
She let in a shaky breath. "It's… It's been a long time since I've last seen my other little cousin, and Anna… "
The little girl turned at her name.
"Tell her… that I said that it's okay to be different."
The older teen placed a soft hand over Anna's head, gently caressing it. She had known about Elsa's powers, and the fact that all of Anna's memories had been erased of them… But Rapunzel, too, had at one time had powers… and she knew without a single doubt that they were nothing to be ashamed of.
"Please tell her that, Anna."
When she said that, the little girl stared up at her, naively and innocently, bobbing her head with her pigtails hopping up and down happily. Little Anna was willing to promise anything if it meant getting to paint with someone… She certainly wasn't getting the same company back home.
Eventually, after many years, it was discovered that, in the end, she had forgotten to give her sister Rapunzel's advice.
