This is a one-shot based on Yahiko babysitting Kenshin.Babysitter

Yahiko sighed. Seriously it wasn't his fault that Kenji was such a nuisance. That boy always ended up on the roof and then cried. He wondered what the boy's parents heard when he was sitting there crying. Did they just ignore him? He couldn't. Kenji's cries could be heard all the way down the street.

"Ow!" He looked at Kenji who smiled as he pulled his hair. "What do you want now you brat?" His response was a tug. "Kenji stop." Yahiko squatted down and put the boy on the floor. Kenji stared at him. "Why did I decide to babysit you today?" Kenji smiled and ran off. The older teen watched until he couldn't see him.

"Kenji?" he called. No one came. Yahiko tried again. "Kenji?" Still no pitter patter of the annoying red head's tiny feet. But he did hear a crash coming from the direction of the dojo.

Yahiko quickly ran and stared at the sight in front of him. He was going to die when Kaoru saw this. Kenji was sitting in the middle of the floor clutching his arm.

"Did you hurt yourself?" Yahiko looked at the three year old and gently approached him. That's when the waterworks started. "It's alright. See?" He lifted up the redheads sleeve only to see a nasty bruise. More tears came pouring down the toddlers cheeks.

Yahiko picked him up and left the dojo. He ran to Dr. Genzai's clinic, relieved to see no patients.

"Yahiko what brings you here?" The boy in question held out the crying redhead. "Kenji-chan is hurt? Where?" Yahiko showed him the bruise and watched as Dr. Genzai put some ointment on the offending bruise. "You could have done this."

"I don't know what to use."

"That's alright." Kenji's sniffling had stopped and Yahiko took him back home. When they entered the dojo, his hair was pulled yet again.

"What do you want now?" Something rumbled. Yahiko sighed as he carried the boy into the kitchen. Finding the meal Kenshin had prepared, Yahiko set about feeding the toddler. At least, feeding Kenji whatever he didn't spit out or throw.

After lunch, he cleaned Kenji up and put him in bed for his afternoon nap.

Yahiko was cleaning the kitchen when he heard footsteps behind him. "Kenji?" The boy looked at Yahiko and shuffled uncomfortably. "Do you need to pee?" Kenji nodded and Yahiko took him to the bathroom. Too late.

"Why didn't you tell me you had to pee?" Kenji looked at him with the innocent violent eyes that he'd inherited from his father. "Kuso." The redhead giggled.

"Kuso!"

"What did you say?"

"Kuso. Kuso, kuso, kuso!" Kenji sang. Yahiko groaned. By the time Kaoru was done with him, he'd look like Shishio for a month.

Now, that Kenji was back in bed, Yahiko finally ate his lunch. A while later, he heard Kenji's little feet again. Luckily he had just finished the dishes. Picking the toddler up he made his way to the gate where Kenshin and Kaoru had just entered.

"Yahiko! How was Kenji? Was he good?"

"I guess." He handed Kenji to Kaoru. That was when the toddler pointed to Kenshin and muttered "Kuso." Two glares were directed at the teenager, one being more deadly.

"Tae asked if I could help at the Akabeko. Bye!" He yelled running away from the dojo. He was never volunteering to babysit Kenji again.
