Dark colored eyes searched through the jars of herbs in the apothecary when they caught the movement of someone small next to them. They looked over fully and smiled at the excited boy. He was out shopping with his son as he was going to school soon and would need to get everything on the supply list.
The boy waved something in his hand excitedly. "I got someone new!" He handed it to his father, who examined it with a hum.
It was a chocolate frog card, giving information on one of the 'famous' or 'infamous' people of various times. His son had gathered as many of them as he could, and he always got duplicates. Today he had gotten someone different, and the boy couldn't be happier.
"Did you know him?" The boy asked.
His father looked over the card in thought, reading through the description. At the 'Also Known As O'Flaherty,' the man couldn't help but chuckle; that brought back good memories. "You could say that. He was a very close mate of mine at Hogwarts. I haven't seen him since the bad times ended."
"Could we meet him?" The boy asked with wide, pleading eyes.
The man ruffled the boy's curly afro. "I think it would do some good to meet up with an old friend after this long."
The boy smiled wide and hugged his father's long leg. He looked up to him and said, "Thank you, father. Maybe I'll get one of your cards again."
"You're a Thomas, of course you'll get one of my cards. We have that kind of luck," the man teased. "Now let's hurry off so we can continue getting your supplies."
The boy nodded obediently and went around the other aisle to grab more jars. After he was out of sight again, Dean Thomas looked at his old friend Seamus grinning on the card in his hand. He sighed, knowing that this meeting was going to be interesting after not speaking to Seamus in so long.
