Hunter looked at the bird that was flying the Helicopter, and sighed. He didn't know what had happened to him, but he did know that his one way to find out was to act under Max's command for the time being.

"Max I'll get you for this yet I promise this." He thought, as he started to think back to when he had his first problem with his former friend.

They we're about 10, or 11 years old, and Hunter had just gotten his Extreme Gear. He could remember how proud of it he was, and the oos, and awes he got from every kid in town when he rode by on it. Only one person didn't like his gear, and that was Max.

Max was the son of the village's richest man, and was also quite spoiled. He got mad at Hunter for getting the gear, and soon after Hunter got his. Max had one too. Max always wanted to be the center of attention, but to do that this time he would have to get better than Hunter at using his gear.

Max practiced tirelessly, but he never got quite as good as Hunter. Max was even further angered that the girl that he liked, Alona, soon got gear of her own as well. Max was tired of trying to out do Hunter, and the addition of Alona was too much, so he hired an assassin to get rid of Hunter. Striker assured Max that he could get the job done, but as he was about to land the killer blow he was attacked by a strange Echidna named Spine. The two of them fought each other heavily, and Spine's companion, Frost moved Hunter out of the battle area. Soon Spine emerged victorious over Striker, and promised to protect Hunter for a few days.

Striker appeared again once or twice over those few days, but he was beaten by Spine every time. Soon Spine felt that he and Frost should leave, so they gathered up the supplies that they would need, and left. Striker was never seen after they had left, and Hunter thought that he was safe.

When Hunter turned 15, He packed up some things, and left to go meet other Extreme Gear racers, and test his skills against them.

Now here he was sitting in a Helicopter, with someone that worked for Max. "Max I thought we could be friends, but I guess I was wrong." He thought, as the hawk looked back at him, and smiled. "We're here." He said happily. Hunter looked out the window to see Max's Hideout, and there standing out side waiting for them to land was Max.
