STORY:

To say that Harry Potter, the-Boy-who-Lived, Boy-who-Conquered-the-Greatest-Dark-Wizard-of-all-time and all-round Golden Boy was nervous, would be an understatement.

Harry was, quite frankly, in a state of panic.

He was getting married to the one and only Ginny Weasley!

At the moment, his best man; Ron Weasley and his other groomsmen Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan and Neville Longbottom, had left the room to get themselves ready so Harry decided to calm down his nerves a bit and do some reflecting while he waited for them...

As various thoughts came to mind, Harry remembered a muggle song he'd once heard and, without even realising, had started to softly sing the words to himself.

As he started singing, his thoughts wandered to his mother; Lily Evans Potter.

And it seems to me

You lived your life,

Like a candle in the wind

Never knowing who to cling to

When the rain set in

Would she be proud of the person he'd become?

Would she approve of Ginny?

Would she still want to call herself his mother?

Would she still love him like she had all those years ago?

As these thoughts of his mother whirled through his head, Harry felt a single tear trickle down his cheek and didn't bother to wipe it away.

His voice slightly choked, he continued with the rest of the song, his mind turning to one; James Potter, his dad.

And I would have liked to have known you

But I was just a kid,

Your candle burned out long before,

Your legend ever did.

Would he be proud of him?

Would he like his wife-to-be?

Would he still want to call him his son?

Would he be loved in that way that only a father can love a son?

As these thoughts also went through his head, Harry felt another tear slide down his cheek.

At hearing a knock on the door, Harry quickly wiped his face dry just as Ron poked his head into the room.

"Yeah?" asked Harry quietly

"It's time mate..." came the reply before the door shut, leaving Harry to collect himself before stepping onto the altar.

Taking a deep breath, Harry closed his eyes and mentally prepared himself to face the rest of life... with Ginny Weasley... No... Ginny Potter by his side.

Authoresses Note:

YAY!! I got around to doing another story... what you think of it? Review and tell me...

I was also wondering, should I do another chapter with the actual wedding? I was thinking about it but wasn't sure how that would fit... If you want it then let me know in your review...and what should happen if I do, I've only got a rough idea at the moment... Also, should I add this story into part of a trilogy I'm working on or does this suit as just a single story?

So anyway, hit that review button!!!
