Title: Value Your Life

Author's Notes: A short ficlet that came to me as I was walking to the bus stop. Probably wouldn't have bothered posting it but Honey Dipped Roses told me she loves Eliot and Hardison's banter so I thought she and others might enjoy it.

Disclaimer: I do not own Leverage, Eliot or Hardison. Dammit!

Spoilers: A tag for the 12-Step Job, spoilers for that episode.

Summary: Set during the 12-Step Job, Eliot has something to discuss with Hardison.

Hardison fanned himself as the cars drove away with their respective Korean and Mexican gang members behind the wheel. Eliot had tried to convince him before that it was good to get out from behind his computer every now and then, but this real world danger stuff just wasn't for him. No, give him a computer monitor and a first person shooter game any day of the week over this actual danger crap. Seriously considering going home to pray and/or change his underwear after nearly dying, twice, Hardison turned around to see Eliot smirking in a manner totally ill-fitting the situation.

"What are you smiling about? Are you just happy to be alive or something because I know me, I am about to embrace life in a whole new way. I am going to Level my Warcraft Mage, get that Enchanted Knife my Warrior's been eyeing, maybe a Mystical Beast for my Elf, even if it kills me. Which it won't, unlike this shit right here."

Even though Hardison was rambling geek, Eliot's grin just spread, like he was in on a fantastic secret.

"What?" Hardison demanded.

Eliot held up the bomb, "I just saved your life, twice, in the last ten minutes. I could have let you get shot or blown up."

"So, what, you want a medal? A hug? Come here man," Hardison's arms spread out wide but Eliot backed up and stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.

Holding Hardison completely still for a moment, Eliot locked eyes with the hacker so as to be perfectly clear as he slowly told him, "You're cleaning my car."

Normally Hardison would have complained out of habit, just to bicker, even if he did owe the hitter his life and had spilled slushie everywhere. However, looking down he saw that Eliot was still holding the bomb. Valuing his life, he just nodded, "Yeah, that's fair."

End

Short and sweet. I was just wondering if the car ever got washed because Hardison said he wasn't going to do it, but then Eliot saved his life, so I was like, "Yeah, he probably washed the car." Hope you enjoyed! Goody.
