I have my first book based Clopin fic right here! Please note that I wrote this while listening to the Alice Cooper song, "I Just Want To be God." I kind of based this Clopin off of the one in the 1997 live action adaptation…the one with Selma Hyak, Richard Harris and Mandy Patinken. As always constructive criticism is welcome, flames not so much. This is a companion piece to "The Night That God Died" and "Without You, I'm Gone." Enjoy!

Here, in the crisp dead of night I am worshipped by the rats, the lowly whole of society, deemed "witches," and, "pagans." Deemed not to be of man, or any honor. Deemed unholy, deemed impure, as though they care.

I am not a man to be pitied, my society only mirrors THEIRS. My dungeon is only filled with THEIR honest men! The "good," and the unfortunate who wander into my parlor, unknowingly. The honorable, and the trusted. Just as every gibbet has a scapegoat, you are mine.

Here there is no heaven, nor hell, no last hope, or prayers for forgiveness. If you be king, I shall not bow, if you be God I shall not cower and beg for absolution. I AM absolution. I am every man's last plea before death. So, do not ask me who is above me, as I am the final word in whether or not you live, or die.

There are no statues erected in my honor, no idols to fall and kiss the toes of, however there should be. To you there is some known authority, but to me…to me, I am the only known authority! So, do not ask me who I am, unless you have told me why I should let you leave here; you will leave here soon enough, by gibbet of course. Be glad, as your existence otherwise would be damnable.

Count your blessings that I am in a good mood today my friend.

I AM God, and that is all I intend to be.

I am the collective voice of this marred soul. I am the judge, jury, executioner, king, pope. In short I am God!

As a side note, sorry that these one shots are so short. I would just rather have a short story and a big impact, than a big story and little impact. I am currently in the proccess of debating whether or not I want to continue on and add chapters, and do fics about each individual character...I just want each character to have their piece first.
