Anubis and the Reaper

By Patrick Guilford

Again, same old day, same old job, nothing interesting thought the Reaper. He was resting on the side of the Lake of the Exorcized. He was thinking about his old friend, Anubis. "Maybe he's in the Hall of Judgement deciding whether they go to Heaven or Hell." Unlike what mythology thought he was, he was like a fox in human form with the same torn up robe. He got up to go check on his friend. Suddenly a rustling sound came from the bushes. "Anubis, is that you?" no answer "Hello?" no answer "Who's there?" Suddenly he heard Anubis' voice. "WATCH OUT!!" Then, out of nowhere, a wolf in human form came out and pinned the Reaper on the ground. "I'M GONNA TURN YOU INTO FRY CHICKEN HA- UCHKK!" There was a spear in the predator's throat. "Where have you been?!" "I told you, I was going to the Lake of the Exorcized." "And I told you that it was dangerous to go there and that you were not going!" "I was worried about you!" "Why do you treat me like a child!" "Cause you have been my best friend and I... I..." They stared at each other, and then Anubis gave the Reaper a passionate kiss. "I love you." They stared at each other (again). Then the Reaper pinned down Anubis and then they started making out. "I love you too."
