This is a fanfic based on Fushigi Yuugi, a manga created by Watase Yū. This fanfic's heroin is Hongō Yui. This will mostly center on her.
I decided to make this fanfic since I felt sorry for the characters after reading the manga and watching some of the tv series.
I felt really bad for the two best friends. If I were Miaka, if Yui still just couldn't believe that I'm her friend, instead of just convincing Yui that I care for her, I would have slap her in their face. I mean, we were friends since forever. Even when some of her consciousness poured out, Yui still kept herself blinded because she's looking for something/someone to blame and burst her anger too. I pity her for being afraid to admit her faults throughout the series. Even then when she confesses her guilt at the near end of the manga, it was still too late. In the end, she became the victim of her own actions.
Though she's my favorite character along with Amiboshi, I'm not blind to fact that she was just plain selfish at that time. The bad thing with her is that when she cares and admires someone too much, she tends to want that person all to herself. A very common example was when she got jealous over Miaka having Tamahome. Actually, it wasn't mainly on her having an infatuation with Tamahome. Actually, she doesn't love Tamahome because it's only a mere crush. She wanted Miaka to only think about her. But once she misunderstood that Miaka "only" went back for Tamahome and not her, she cracks up saying it's a betrayal. It's kind of like a jealous boyfriend/girlfriend who keeps on insisting that you're cheating on him/her.
There will be fastforwards and my version rewrite of some parts of the manga/episodes.
About some insides of the story:
Miaka slaps Yui.
Suboshi injured Tamahome's family and nearly killed them but wasn't able to since Tamahome came in time. Still, Tamahome holds a grudge against him for hurting his family.
Yui befriends a little girl and her guardian. The little girl turns out to be the emperor's niece. Her guardian is working the temple.
Yui is then informed about the truth and about her real role in the story by Taiitsukin with the help of a temple guardian.
Dressed and disguised as a guy, Yui runs away from the palace in search of something.
Yui stumbles in a town near Xi-liang (Sairo) wherein she meets Kaika who was really Amiboshi having an amnesia.
Amiboshi slowly falls for her not knowing she's the Seiryu no miko.
Amiboshi regains some of his memories later in the story because of Yui's presence.
Yui meets an old woman who then teaches her the basics of martial arts.
After months of training, Yui goes on her search.
After confirming that Yui's chi is the Seiryu no miko's chi, Amiboshi thinks of convincing her that Miaka and the Suzaku shichi seishi are not enemies. It turns out that Yui doesn't care about her misfits with Miaka and Tamahome and the Suzaku shichi seishi, and whatsoever. She replies that she now has one goal that is finish off everything for the better.
Not understanding what Yui had said, Amiboshi still leaves his town to go after Yui.
It became hard for the Seiryu seishi to look for their miko since Yui had learned how to hide her chi.
