A One Shot so short it could be called a half-shot. More crossover experimentation than anything.
"Castiel."
"You know my name." Castiel's voice was hoarse, but the lack of emotion was evident. If he was at all surprised, it didn't show. He turned his head to the side to catch a glimpse of the one who had followed him to the Temple of Light.
The Angel had been aware of the faint presence ever since he appeared in the land of Hyrule and began collecting the Spiritual Stones. The task of traveling to the other world had become so taxing on him and his power that he found himself stuck in a world he had only heard about in passing. He had been as skeptical as many of the other angels who were told of its existence. They were merely bedtime stories told to them by their Father.
But he needed help, and all other avenues were exhausted-Winchesters included.
"As I'm sure you're aware, I have been watching you." The woman was obviously of status. Her royal garments and tiara all but gave her away. Her appearance reminded Castiel of the woman in those very same stories he'd heard so long ago.
"You are Princess Zelda."
"What do you intend to do with these Stones? What use are they to you?." The Princess was hesitant to engage in more conversation with him than she needed to. She could tell he had no intentions of hurting her, but for such a stranger to be in her land was cause enough for alarm.
"I need a way to be rid of the control that Naomi has on me. This...sword that your people revere just may be able to do that. I need to borrow it."
In his weakened state from the travel, Castiel was unable to fly toward the stone doorway between him and the Master Sword, so he slowly climbed the stairs, waiting for the stone doors to part, but they didn't move. "I don't understand. I have all of the stones to complete the task. Why won't the doors open?"
Zelda stood quietly, surveying the angel before her. She knew exactly who he was and why he was there, but it didn't make the situation any easier. "You wait for no one, it seems. The pieces of the puzzle aren't yet complete. You have but one item left to acquire."
"...And you have it, I'm sure." It clicked as he stood, staring at the Triforce above the stone blockade. This was where the hero once passed with the help of the Ocarina that opened the doors to the Master Sword.
"No one else can help me. Please, Prin-" before Castiel could finish, a shadowy figure appeared in the doorway to the temple and the two turned to face it. Castiel knew who it was immediately and squinted, refusing to believe what he was seeing.
"Cas?"
Not sure if I should expand on it, but I'm mulling over it. Thanks for reading!
