Hey, everyone! This is a new story I'm starting... I recently became a part of the Merlin fandom because of a video tribute on Facebook, and I've been wanting to write this story for a while! This story will focus mainly on Merlin, because Colin Morgan is one very cute man, but will also contain a healthy dose of my favorite knight, Percival. Just to warn you, I've only seen the first episode of season one in its entirety, so I apologize if people say things or do things they shouldn't. Also, just because I started this new story does not mean that I am giving up on my Bonanza story-that will continue once I've written the chapter on my phone. I will also soon begin (hopefully) a Bonanza story that I will (hopefully) be co-writing with KayValo87. So, after that long author's note, sit back, relax-and enjoy the story! (sorry it's so short…the next chapter should be much longer.)
Disclaimer: I own none of Merlin. None of it. (unfortunately….)
It was a beautiful day in the land of Camelot. There were no tournaments to plan or fantastical creatures to defeat, so Arthur and the knights were enjoying the sunshine by sparring. Gwaine had said something to Elyan, and the two had started to battle good-naturedly. Arthur was sitting with Merlin, looking over his schedule for the next day. A young princess named Hannah was coming with her father and her escort from the land of Iconia. Iconia was a ways away from Camelot, and no real envoys had ever traveled between the two countries before.
"Have you finished glaring at that parchment, Sire?" Merlin asked. Arthur raised his eyes from the parchment to stare at Merlin. The manservant took a hint, and shut up. Arthur sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Well, tomorrow should be interesting, no doubt about that." Arthur commented dryly. "Why-does Princess Hannah not know that you're a clot pole or something?" Merlin teased. Arthur smacked him. "No, it's not that, you idiot. Iconia is a kingdom that not only allows magic to be practiced, but openly encourages it. Princess Hannah is hoping that I won't mind if she brings along her maidservant, who just so happens to be able to use magic." Merlin glanced over at him. "Well, shouldn't she be allowed to, as long as she doesn't actually use her magic?" Arthur thought for a second, and then nodded. "You're right, Merlin. So, you'll be the one to show her around and make sure that she has everything she needs to take care of Princess Hannah." Merlin sighed. Why did he always get the tough jobs?
A/N-Just so you all know, this story takes place in between seasons 4 & 5 of Merlin, in that 3 year gap...so Uther is dead, and Arthur is King. See you all real soon with the next chapter!
