Off To War
A call from their country
And line up they did
Some with visions of glory
But most with visions of dread
One by one they boarded a ship
To take them to a destination
Of which some will never make the return trip
The piers were filled with sounds of cries
Families showing brave faces as they waved good-bye
Many a son, brother, daughter and father
Waved to each other, wandering
if again they would see each other
When they arrived
They marched off the boat
The enemies were waiting
The soldiers had no where to go
With guns in hand they did fight
For what they had always believed in was right
Some had fallen while others survived
They were pushing back the enemy lines
With victory in hand
We sailed back home
Never to forget
The comrades who never made it home
