Hidden Behind the Veil
A/N: This is a one-shot featuring how and why Gabriel became the Trickster and his little "Witness Protection" program. I personally love Gabriel and I might turn it into a story if a lot of people ask me to. (: Although, it's pretty crapy. :/
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: Don't own em, wish I did!(:
Gabriel stood in silence as the arguing continued. It was torture hearing his family be torn apart again. Ever since Lucifer's betrayal, every Angel was on high alert for anyone who showed signs of disloyalty. "Just SHUT UP already!" Gabriel shouted. "Look, we get it. Anna has been acting differently. Doesn't mean she's going to become the next Lucy. Get over it!" He growled to his bickering siblings. They gave him incredulous looks and he couldn't help but let out a laugh as he flew away to his favorite corner in heaven.
He sat in the small field that held the autistic man's heaven. He watched the children playing on the playground, the birds flying through the air. It calmed him, made the sting of his siblings mistrust dissipate. They could never stop bickering. It seemed as if it was apart of them now. It pained him to see his family falling apart. Sometimes he just wanted to run away, to disappear and leave the family problems behind. He never could though; he was to loyal to his Father.
"Gabriel." He wheeled around and found himself face to face with his Father.
"Father!" He immediately knelt before him, joyful at seeing his face again.
"Rise, Gabriel." Gabriel immediately stood, relishing in the happiness that bubbled in his soul. "Why are you here? I can hear your siblings arguing even from here."
Gabriel glanced down. He hated dissapointng his Father. He was normally the peace keeper during his family arguments.
His Father sighed."I understand that seeing your brothers and sisters squabble. It pains me to see my children acting so…childishly."
"Please stop it then Father." Gabriel pleaded. His family was becoming corrupt with the fear that someone else would turn, someone else would fall. Anna had been the current angel under review. She had been stationed on Earth for the past 2000 years, and was becoming restless.
"I cannot. They will not listen to me. That is why I must leave Gabriel." Gabriel looked up, quickly. "I must find a way to stop my children from this fighting. I will be back, my child. That I promise." The despair was over powering for Gabriel.
"Father—"
"Gabriel. I understand. I know what you have been debating." That stopped Gabriel cold. "I understand that you need to get away. I know it must be difficult to see this. I am leaving to find a way to help my children, Gabriel. You must disappear to save your brothers."
After saying that, Gabriel watched as his father walked away. He glanced back to where his siblings stood, bickering once again. He had to escape it, just as his father had said. It was time to go. He just had to find a new persona to become, for his siblings would never believe that he had gotten permission from their Father to do this. He had to find someone inconspicuous, non-angelic, someone like Loki, the trickster. That was a very good person to become; also, Gabriel was the funniest of the angels, no matter what Uriel believed.
A/N: So this is a one shot. a really bad one shot, but a one shot none the less. Thanks for reading it, I might change some stuff around, edit different parts depending on how I feel and post them as new chapters, unless people want me to make it an actual story!(: Hope you enjoyed!
