It's a crappy drabble for Canada day *yay*!

It was going to be fluffy, but oh well

Matthew sat at the head of the table. The wine was poured, the table set for all of his guests, and the food ready to be served. After waiting a few minutes so all of his guests could arrive, he greeted them all and welcomed them into his empty house.

"Thank you, everyone, for coming. I'm so glad you guys came this time", he pronounced to the empty dining room.

"It means so much to me that you all were able to make it this time. You know, I haven't had a birthday party since 1867." Matthew, noticing the uncomfortable silence in the room, went on with his speech.

"Oh no, I'm not trying to make you all feel guilty. I'm honestly just so happy you all were able to make it." When he noticed the relieved faces of his guests, Matthew smiled. He was so glad, overjoyed, that people had actually remembered him. He smiled, sat down, and began to talk and laugh with his guests.

Unbeknownst to Matthew, four people happened to see this display of… oddity. On his porch, watching through the window stood Alfred, Arthur, Francis, and Gilbert. The members of the small party now looked at each other, feeling guilty and wondering how they could fix their many mistakes that had led to Matthew's current mental state. For now they could only watch Matthew talking to the empty house.
