Author's note: Sort of like the other poem, 'A Memory Within Me', this is from the time that Toya sort of forgot Aya. The difference is that this is Aya's version. But the poems don't exactly have much to do with each other so you don't have to read the other one if you don't want to. Tee hee! Enjoy!

If Only You Remembered

Does this mean it is over?
Will you never again recall?
You used to be here; you used to be mine.

How I want to tell you
But can I even speak the words?
Will you hear what I will say?
Or will the words linger unheard?

Why have you forgotten?
Has the truth hidden itself from you?
If only they are in your heart
The memories cherished yet few

When your gaze touches my own
Can you tell me what you see?
If eyes reflect emotions
Hurt and rejection it must be

Who stands there by your side?
The one you now hold dear?
If that's the answer you must give
Then tolerate my tears

My heart is marred with wounds
Wounds you simply rendered
How my soul, my heart, calls out
"If only you remembered."
