You know that taste you get in the back of your throat right before you vomit, that was the feeling he had when he found her broken and bleeding in a decrepit apartment. He had kicked the door down to the apartment looking for the man who was supposed to be living there. That's when he saw her lying limply on a blood stained mattress. It took a moment for him to breathe again since he thought she was dead. Tom had calmly walked over and checked her for a heart beat which he was relieved to find.

"Shizuo-kun, you're faster than me, I'll call Shinra-san while you run her to his apartment." Shizuo had only nodded at that as he was still in shock, "You have to pick her up."

"Oh, right…" Shizuo muttered softly and picked her up, cradling her ever so gently in his arms. Despite that this man had been known to rip street signs from cement like weeds from the ground he could hold someone without harming them. He was the most fearsome kindhearted person anyone could ever meet… and he was terrified that he would harm this young woman even more by touching her.

He walked into the alley way where Tom was talking on his cell phone. His senpai waved for him to go as he talked to the underground doctor. Shizuo nodded and began running as if he was running for his life, but he was really running for her life. People moved out of his way quicker than they usually did. The most interesting thing was when he ran right past Orihara Izaya without realizing he was there.

Celty was already waiting at the door knowing that the girl needed help. Shizuo ran into the small apartment and was ushered into another room where Shinra's equipment was. He was very gentle in sitting her broken body down on the hospital bed. Shinra began to examine her seeing the damage that cruel men had inflected upon her body. Shizuo turned away and walked out of the room, not wanting to see anymore.

He was too kindhearted. He didn't even know this girl and yet he felt like crying for her, he didn't of course, but it still upset the ex-bartender that people would do things like that to a woman. It was wrong in his eyes; he had been brought up being told to never lay hands on a woman with harming her in mind. He left shortly after that.

The next day he didn't even think about what had happened. He just went on with his life like everyone else. It was a while after that when Shinra called telling him that the girl he had brought to them was doing fine and was going home.

"That's good." The blonde said nothing more.

It was weeks after that he had completely forgotten about ever seeing that girl. He was waiting for Tom in front of Russia Sushi like normal when he noticed a pretty Caucasian girl staring at him. She looked away from him when their eyes met, and went on her way. Shizuo went on his way shortly after that never to know just how much he meant to that little brunet girl. For in her eyes he was her hero.

Shadow's Ramble: So... I got bored and just started writing and this was the result. It's a one-shot for now, but I might add a chapter about Izaya being... Izaya. I think Shizuo is a kind person so I figured that this was good. If I get any reviews on this I'll think about adding more. If I do I have no idea where it's going to go. Please review. Shadow out~!
