Before this begins, Shadow (In this story) is not immortal because of reasons.
We begin at Tails' garage.
Sonic, Amy, Shadow, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge and Sticks were sitting around a table when the doorbell rang.
Sonic decided that he would get it, so he got up and went to the door.
He opened it and a human mailman was standing at the door.
"Letter for Mr. Sonic?" he said.
"That is me, What is it?" Sonic said.
"Letter for you." the mailman said as he handed the letter to Sonic.
"Thanks for that, See you around." Sonic said before the mailman went away and Sonic closed the door.
"What is it?" Sticks asked.
Sonic opened the letter and saw it it was from his uncle Chuck. "It's from my uncle."
"You never said you had an uncle." Amy said.
"Yeah, well now you do." Sonic said as he took out the piece of paper in the letter. "It says 'My dear nephew, it's been a while, hasn't it? Well, I needed a bit of help. I'm going on a business trip for my job in California, therefore I would like you to take care of the house. Are you up for it? It'll be at 7:30 pm.
The address is 71 Cloud street.
P.S. You can bring your friends if you want.
From your Uncle Chuck.'"
"So he's asking you to take care of the house?" Rouge asked.
"Yep, he said you guys can come along if you want." Sonic added. "You guys interested?"
The others had a discussion between each other while Sonic stood to wait until they had finished.
Eventually.
"Yeah, we'll come." Knuckles said.
Everyone else nodded.
"Cool, What time is it?" Sonic asked.
"7:30." Tails said. "Pm."
"No the time right now." Sonic specified.
"Oh, quarter to seven." Tails said.
"Thanks." Sonic said.
"We should get some of our stuff from houses." Amy said.
"Seems like a good idea, that'll be a way of killing time." Sonic said.
(Later)
The group arrived at Chuck's house which was a 3 story mansion that was quite grey, the wood was dark and the doors and windows were still clean.
Each of them was carrying bags with some of their stuff in it.
"Are you sure this is the right place?" Rouge asked.
"Yep, this is the place." Sonic looked at the 71 that was on the door.
Sonic walked up to the door and rang the doorbell, it was quite loud with a bell sound.
Sonic could then hear footsteps coming towards the door.
The door opened and Chuck was standing there, he had light blue skin, with a white mustache.
"Uncle Chuck!" Sonic hugged Chuck.
"Nice to meet you too, Sonic." Chuck hugged back.
They let go as Chuck noticed the others.
"These your friends?" Chuck asked.
"Yep, from left to right, Amy, Tails, Rouge, Shadow, Sticks and Knuckles." Sonic introduced.
Amy and Knuckles waved.
"Ah, ok, come in come in!" Chuck said.
The others came into the house.
"Great, now I'll show you around the house, including the first, second and third floor and the cellar." Chuck announced.
Chuck guided the group around the first floor which was massive, it included the kitchen, dinner room, a few bedrooms, a staircase that was 40 steps up 20 led to the halfway point while 10 went left and 10 went right, a trophy room, an art gallery and golden chandeliers that lit up the place in a golden glow.
"Woah, a lot of stuff for the first floor." Sticks complimented.
"Yes indeed." Chuck said. "And there's a lot more, onto the second Floor!"
They went up to the second floor which had more bedrooms, about 5 bathrooms, a window with a clear view of the entire city and a library.
"This is more like a hotel!" Amy said.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I thought that a few times myself, I never thought anyone else would say something...similar." Chuck replied.
"2 more to go, onto the next floor!" Chuck announced.
Everyone followed Chuck up towards the third floor, which did not have a lot of stuff on it, but it included a storage room, a few boxes containing random stuff and a few portraits of Chuck.
"Finally, the basement." Chuck said.
Chuck went down the stairs, but he stopped midway.
"Actually, all that is there is the brewery, nothing too special." Chuck said.
Eventually, everyone went back to the foyer.
"Well, I'm glad you decided to help me in a quick favor, now, I will be away for 3 days, just as a reminder." Chuck said.
"No problem uncle, we'll take good care of the house." Sonic replied.
"Ah, there's a good chap." Chuck said as he went to the front door. "Well goodbye!"
"Bye!" everyone shouted except for Shadow.
Chuck closed the front door as everyone stood there, silently, waiting for a voice to be heard.
"What now?" Sticks broke the silence.
"Probably set up our rooms for the night." Sonic said.
Everyone went up the stairs but got stopped by Amy when she made a point.
"What shall we have for dinner?" Amy asked.
"See what you can find in the fridge, should be a couple things we could have, like pizza or something." Sonic said.
"Ok, I'll see what Chuck has." Amy said and went to the kitchen carrying her bag.
"I'll come with you." Rouge said as she followed Amy also carrying her bag.
"Alright, let's head to our rooms." Sonic said.
The group, minus Amy and Rouge went into separate rooms, Sonic was by himself, Tails and Knuckles in another, Shadow was by himself also, as well as Sticks.
Sonic unpacked his stuff which included a laptop, phone, pictures of him and the group and a water bottle.
Tails had a laptop also, but he had a few devices that came along with it.
"You really care about technology a lot." Knuckles pointed out.
"Yep, it's my life, just making, hacking and destroy stuff." Tails replied.
"Heh, cool." Knuckles said.
Shadow unpacked his bag, which had a pistol, seven handcuffs, and other crime stuff.
Sticks unpacked her bag, which only had boomerangs in the bags.
With Amy and Rouge.
Amy was searching through the fridge for something, but there was a lot of food inside.
"Wow, he has a lot of stuff." Amy said.
"What does he have?" Rouge asked.
"Coke, pizza, those burger things that you can heat in the microwave, so many options!" Amy said.
She closed the fridge door and went to other cupboards to see what there is, she opened a cupboard under the sink and saw a can of rat poison.
"What does he need rat poison for?" Amy asked before a huge rat jumped out.
"Ahh!" Amy jumped back into a wall as the rat ran out the kitchen.
Rouge saw the rat also. "That answers your question about the rat poison, he's dealing with a rat problem!"
Amy was still shaking. "Not funny!"
"I wasn't trying to be funny." Rouge said. "You'll be fine, it won't hurt you."
"Ok, I'm calm." Amy said. "Maybe pizza, it's simple to make."
"Good choice." Rouge said.
Later.
Rouge and Amy finished making the pizza and was quite big, so they cut it into 28 pieces, 4 for each person.
"Finally, It's done." Amy said.
"Let's get the others down to the dining room." Rouge said.
They left the room as an unseen figure opens the cupboard under the sink and picks up the rat poison, opens it and pours it over a set of pizza's, the figure then merges it with the set to make it look like nothing is on it.
The figure left the room as Amy came in and collected the sets of pizza and took it to the dining room.
With the others.
Everyone was sitting around the dinner table and from left to right on one side, Tails, then Knuckles, then Shadow and finally Sonic, all sitting one chair away from each other and on the other side from left to right was Sticks and then Rouge, sitting three seats away from each other, while Amy serves the plates.
"Dinner is served, my friends." Amy said as she laid the plates of pizza out in front of everyone including where she was going to sit.
Amy sat down and everyone began eating.
"4 pieces for everyone so don't complain." Amy said.
"Fair enough." Sonic said.
"What else did you find?" Shadow asked.
"Just some drinks and other stuff, oh and that Chuck has a rat problem!" Amy said.
"Really? Hate rats." Sticks said as she ate a slice.
"This tastes weird." Tails said after eating a slice.
"What's wrong with it?" Rouge asked.
"Is there anything else we can add?" Tails asked.
"I didn't see anything." Amy said.
"I'll double check." Tails said getting up and heading into the kitchen.
"I swear I did things right." Amy said to herself as she ate a slice.
"You did nothing wrong, everyone has different taste buds." Knuckles said.
"True." Amy said. "But, something feels weird."
"What is it?" Rouge asked.
"Nothing, it's probably just my imagination." Amy said.
"It's normal to feel that way." Shadow said eating a slice.
"Yep, you're right." Tails said coming back into the dining room. "Nothing there."
Tails sat back down an took a slice.
Later, at night.
Sonic was in his room on his laptop playing Garry's mod on steam when Amy came in.
"What are you doing here?" Sonic asked.
"I was wondering if I could sleep with you." Amy smiled.
"Ok, but nothing weird! Ok?" Sonic issued.
"Ok, plus I wasn't even thinking about it anyway." Amy said.
"That's good to hear." Sonic said back.
Amy unpacked her stuff which included a plushie of a cute wolf, a book, and a secret diary.
"Don't ask." Amy said.
Sonic wasn't looking so he didn't know what she was talking about. "What?"
"Nothing." Amy said.
Sonic then noticed the diary. "Oh, I would never do that."
"Thanks." Amy said as she sat beside Sonic on the bed.
(Later)
Sonic and Amy woke up to the sound of vomit, coming from one of the bathrooms.
"What is that?" Amy asked.
the pair rushed out the bed and attempted to find the room where the noise was coming from.
Eventually, they got to the door and heard the vomiting from outside the door, but then it died down.
"What happened?" Knuckles came into view.
"Someone is sick, we don't know who though." Amy said.
Just then Shadow and Tails came into view as well.
"What's wrong?" Tails asked.
Shadow tried opening the door, but it appeared to be locked.
"Whoever is in there, open the door!" Shadow banged on the door.
Just then someone else came into view.
"What the heck is going on?" It was Sticks.
"Rouge! Open the door!" Amy called out.
No response.
Shadow tried unlocking the door from the outside, but it remained stiff.
Sonic looked through the crack of the door and saw nothing, only the sink, toilet, heater and a towel hanging of off the sink.
He also saw that the door wasn't locked.
"It's not locked." Sonic said.
"Is she leaning on the door?" Amy asked.
Shadow managed to open the door, but Rouge wasn't there.
"Rouge? Where are you?" Shadow went into the room, cautious.
Amy then screamed after seeing Rouge's legs behind the door.
She moved backward and fell down the stairs, but did not die.
"Amy!" Sonic rushed down the stairs and held Amy in his arms.
She was shaking in fear.
"What did you see?" Sonic asked.
"D-D-Door." Amy said.
Shadow looked at the door and then saw Rouge behind it, laying on her side on the floor.
He slowly turned her and her eyes were white, sweat was on her head and when Shadow checked for a pulse, there was nothing.
"She's dead." Shadow said.
