So sleepy.

It was terrifying, losing consciousness. The feeling of having no control over your body while people watched you as if you were some experiment. Then again, she probably was. She couldn't hear their voices so well, partly because of the strange material used to keep her in there, but mostly because of the steady loss of her senses.

This was for the best, Rinoa knew. After all, she was dangerous now. Not only a sorceress but a vessel for Ultimecia. Perhaps if she had stayed home like Caraway had said, maybe if she had been the good daughter he wanted she would be safe now. Rinoa was a coward, she was so weak...what had ever caused her to believe she could change something? What can a seventeen year old girl accomplish?

Apparently nothing but becoming a threat to mankind.

Stop it

What was she thinking? She might not have changed Timber like she'd wanted, or been able to prove herself to the people who constantly doubted her but one good thing had come from it all. She had met him. The silent, stubborn, lonely boy who had stolen her heart. It's not that he was a charmer, he was certainly anything but that, but there was something about him she found so desirable. Perhaps she had wanted to save him from what he believed the world was. Cold, careless people who only looked out for themselves.

The room began to dim rapidly then and she felt her breathing change to a slow, steady rhythm. Rinoa closed her eyes then, wishing that she could have told Squall more, helped him realize there were people out there who cared for him. Wishing that maybe he could have tried to save her too.

Squall...

That's when it happened, the sudden rush of cold air sweeping over her as her prison was cut. Rinoa could hear the alarms screeching as she regained her senses and suddenly she was falling forward into someone's waiting arm's. As she felt his embrace and smelled the leather of his coat she realized that he had come despite how dangerous she was.

Squall Leonhart had come to save her after all.
