A Change

Note:- I do not own Evangelion, it would be much if I did. I got the idea for this from Palcomix, just the pairing not the story. And now we do proceed into the belly of a most disturbed mind.
Tokyo, a buzzing metropolis, even during the Angle's attacks, "Asuka wait up!" Shinji was lagging behind as they ran to school, "Hurry up or we'll be late!"
!Ring!
Asuka and Shinji had just made it class, "So Shinji stop by the Arcade later?" The question came from Toji "Yeah sure after I get done at NERV." Asuka was on the other side of the room setting up a girls night with her friends. The day went by on and on as usual till gym. The boys sat on the sidelines admiring the girls; most of the girls were swimming or talking but unlike the norm Rei was staring of toward the locker room were Asuka was leaning against the door. Most did not notice this but Shinji did, he always watched Rei. The day went till the last bell rang and students departed. Asuka, Rei, and Shinji left for NERV HQ. The three disappeared into the complex and returned a few hours later as usual, "See you later Shinji, wonder girl, I'm off to a night on the town." Asuka departed, Rei solemnly left as well leaving Shinji to walk home alone again as most Fridays, it being 8:00 and know Toji and the others would not be there.
Shinji entered the apartment, "Shinji, Asuka is that you?" Misato was in on the couch with as usual a beer in hand. "No just Shinji, Asuka's clubbing with her friends." Shinji put his bag down and took off his shoes, and sat down next to Misato. "Want one? You look down." Shinji took the offered beer. "Want to talk?" Misato was on a roll. "It gets me down, being a guy I can't go and go clubbing with the guys or hang at one of there houses with out it looking gay." Shinji took another drag from his beer. "And, I mean girls can do almost anything without being yeld at." Shinji paused to drink. " Not ever thing Shinji, having relationship with younger people who you work with is seen as weird." Shinji gave Misato a quizzical look 'was she talking about me.' Shinji retired to his room shortly after.

In the next chapter we jump three years into the future Shinji being 18.
