Disclaimer & ANs: As usual, thankies to P-chan for beta-reading. I don't own Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi does. The Warren (sp?) Brothers own the song/chorus.
WARNINGS: Fluff, WAFFy and pointless.

Raye looked down at the music notes on the paper. They seemed
to blur together into an inky blob. Angrily, Raye wiped away her tears
before it smeared the paper. She could still see Darien's back as he
walked away from her. She looked at the paper. The notes seemed lonely
on the paper, without lyrics.

'Come on, Raye,' she chided herself sternly. "He's just a guy,
Raye," she muttered, wiping her eyes again. Sighing, she wrote the
first line of the chorus with a flourish she didn't feel.

~Move on, Move on~

"I should take my own advice." Her voice was bitter, even in
her own ears. The next part came easily, it seemed.

"Raye, would you like some dinner?" a voice asked from the
doorway. Chad moved into the room, big brown eyes worried under the
shag of his hair. "You haven't eaten for days."

~Come on~

She glanced up at the musician with weary eyes before facing
her work again. "No, thank you, Chad," she smiled slightly. "I'm not
very hungry." she wrote the next line.

~Love is like a puzzle when the pieces don't fit~

A plate of steaming food was shoved under her nose. Chad looked
at her sternly. "Eat." There was no arguing with his tone of voice.
Raye smiled a bit more and picked up the fork.

"What are you doing?" Chad asked, sitting beside her.
Apparently he was going to make sure she ate.

"A song," she said shortly, concentrating on filling her
stomach. After the first bite, she had suddenly realized that she was
hungry.

Chad looked at her notes. "What's the last line?"

"I don't know," she answered honestly.

Chad looked at her, eyes serious under his hair. "I have an
idea. May I?"

Raye hesitated, a forkful of food halfway to her mouth. To a
musician, her music was everything. Letting anyone else work on it
was... it was letting them get close. Too close. But... Chad was a nice
guy, but that was paramount to asking him out. Was she ready..? Slowly,
she nodded, eyes uncertain.

Chad watched her closely he bent over the paper, adding the
final line.

~There ain't nothing you can do about it~

Chad looked up, his velvet brown eyes meeting Raye's purple.
Together, they smiled.
