Do you love me?
I sigh quietly to myself as I flip through the channels.
I glance over at you, and sigh again. You are still indulged in that
boring physics book. You say you love me and I can tell that you
do whenever I look into your eyes.
~~Do you love me? Tell me so. Do you love me? I need to know.~~
I stand up slowly and head towards the kitchen for a drink. I come back,
and you are still inthralled in that book. What I wouldn't give for you to pay
that much attention to me. Closing my eyes to hold back the tears, I take
my place back on the couch and turn off the tv.
~~Do you love me? I wish you'd show. Do you love me? I don't know.~~
"Darien?" I ask quietly.
You pay no attention, but just keep reading your book.
"Darien..?" I repeat a little louder.
You barely look up from your book to acknowledge me. "Yes, Serena?"
"Do you love me?"
~~Do you love me? Tell me so. Do you love me? I need to know.~~
"What kind of question is that, Sere? You know I do." You assure with a small smile.
"But do you really?"
"Of course, Sere."
"I wish you'd tell me more often." I mumbled gently under my breath.
"Did you say something?" You ask lightly.
I just shake my head, "Nothing, Darien.."
I look to the floor and then back towards you. You are already back to the book.
Forgetting my existance for the time being.
~~Do you love me? Show me please. Do you love me? Put my heart at ease~~
"Darien?" I ask again.
"what is it Sere?" You reply, a hint of adjitation in your voice.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath, "I think we need to spend some time apart."
I catch your attention then. "What do you mean?" You ask in concern. Finally, you
put that damn book down.
"I don't know. I mean that I might as well not be here when all you'r going to do is study.
You've ignored me for that past hour that I've been here!"
I see you close your eyes and whisper, "I'm sorry. Please don't leave." I hear you plead.
"Why shouldn't I?"
"Because, I want to make it up to you." You reply as he take my hand in yours.
That's NOT what I wanted to hear. Why can't you just say it?!
I stand up slowly as I tear my eyes away from yours. "Oh, Serena. Please, don't leave me..." I hear you whimper quietly.
I stop in my path heading to the door. Hearing your voice makes me weak. You sound in such pain and agony. But I stand my ground. I need to know. "Why?"
"Because...Because I love you!" I hear you say. The words held such truth and love. That was the only thing I needed to hear, before stepping outside the apartment door.
~~Do you love me? I now know. You do love me. I love you so~~
I closed my eyes and turned around to face you. You held your head in your hands and I could tell that tears were flowing gently down your cheeks. Lightly, I reach out and take you into my arms. "I love you too, Darien and don't you worry. I won't ever leave you." I say as I rock you gently in my arms. "I love you..."
I lift your chin lightly and place a small gently kiss to your forhead and then to your lips. I am happy. Finally, I know that you truly love me.....
