When Kevin receives a picture of his darling Macy, he's blubbering and crying about how much he misses her, how beautiful she looks.
When Nick receives a picture from his darling Penny, he writes a song about her undying beauty and creativity. (Which Joe thinks she lacks. "Song thief!")
But, when Joe receives a picture from Stella, he doesn't know what to say. He stares at it, his mouth hanging open. For a moment, he thinks she's a figure of his imagination. That there is no way in Hell, Heaven or Earth – that something as gorgeous as her actually exists. He waits for the picture to explode into confetti or magically disappear, but gets nothing. The frame stays in his hands, her face staring back at him. Her soft, gold hair frames said face perfectly, her eyes sparkling and a dazzling, heart stopping smile has the corners of her mouth turned up. The landscape of Paris is seen behind her, the Eiffel Tower standing close by. Joe curses the fashion school for being so far away. (And himself, for letting her slip through his fingers – not telling her how he really felt.) His mind is blank – he can't think of anything – anything at all – to describe the photo in front of him. Beautiful? Understatement. Gorgeous? Understatement. Pretty? Understatement of the century.
He can faintly hear his brothers raving about the pictures they'd received. So, why couldn't he describe his?
A picture's worth a thousand words.
And yet, he's speechless.
Jeez.
This challenge was kinda hard for me.
I couldn't think of anything to write. (Including romance - because, y'know, all I write is romance. xD)
So, yeah. This kinda sucks. :p
