You were standing in the cramped motel kitchen, whipping up a box of brownies for the boys when they got back tonight. You'd already fed Cas and yourself with fishsticks and microwave vegetables. Sam and Dean probably stopped off for burgers somewhere, so no need to worry about those bottomless pits. You smiled to yourself to think about how surprised they were going to be to stagger back to the smell of chocolate…
"(y/n)?"
You jumped, almost dropping the bowl. Even though Cas was a human, he still had the freaky ability to sneak up on and scare the crap outta you. This was the third time he'd scared you tonight alone. You let out an agitated sigh.
"What is it, Cas—?"
You turned to look at him, not realizing how close he was standing behind you. Your eyes went wide as Castiels face dipped down towards yours. For a panicked second, you thought he was going to kiss you so when he bumped his nose against yours in a gentle Eskimo kiss you were stunned. He pulled back, his unwavering blue eyes locking onto you to watch your reaction. Your cheeks heated up at his proximity.
"This is a sign of endearment expressed by the native tribes in Alaska," he recited with pride in his voice and a little smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"O-oh… Really?" you replied, more than a little shocked. "uh…I didn't know that. Thanks, I guess?"
It wasn't the strangest thing he'd done and it hadn't been unpleasant so… You'd let it slide. Plus, Cas looked proud to have gotten something right and you didn't want to take this little victory away from him. He looked so cute with that growing smile on his face. You melted slightly, recovering from your surprise enough to grin at him. You were sure you would embarrass him if you let it show how much you had liked the intimate gesture. He was still oblivious to the crush you had on him and you didn't want to overwhelm him, especially since he was just starting to get used to feelings like hunger and exhaustion.
"What are you doing?" he asked, taking an interest in the bowl under your arm. His face crumpled in confusion at the glistening brown substance. "What is that?!"
You laughed aloud at his disgusted expression. Suppose brownies haven't been added to his mental catalog yet.
"They're brownies, relax. They're really good," you grinned, tipping the bowl toward him. "Try some."
Castiel furrowed his brow in a way that reminded you of a pug but he obeyed, taking a swipe of batter from the side. He sniffed it and seemed to decide it smelled alright so popped his finger into his mouth, sucking noisily. Your throat tightend and you blushed a bit, cursing your dirty mind.
"Good?"
He was still deliberating when you dabbed a bit of the chocolate batter on the end of his nose. He looked horrified and you laughed aloud. "Good. You'll love them even more when they're baked."
He didn't look so sure, his blue eyes flickering over your face.
"(y/n), you have…uh, brownie…on your cheek." he pointed out.
"Where?" You swiped at your cheek with the back of your hand.
"Here, let me…" he lifted his fingers under your chin and turned your head to one side. You stayed still, expecting him to use his sleeve and were shocked when he leaned in and took a slow lick along your cheek.
It was your turn to look horrified, your mouth falling open in the start of a protest when he licked you again. His tongue was gentle, warm and wet, leaving a cold trail of siliva on your skin as he pulled back. He looked very satisfied with himself.
"Got it."
You starred at him like he was crazy. He licked his lips and smiled.
"You're right," Castiel decided. "It's very sweet."
