Binding us Where We Stand. by Makenzie

How it happened, well, that is a different story all together. But the curse has been broken and the inhabitants of Storybrooke finally remember their true selves and as Mr. Gold once put it, were "looking for blood". They really thought they got it right this time. Evil will be defeated and everything would be as it once was before.

Until the truth hits them all, unexpectedly, from Ruby's mouth.

"What happens after we kill her?" The young women asked, her eyes flicking to where the sword pierced Regina's throat. David stood over where the former queen lay on the dirt ground, weapon in hand. Surrounding the two, were all the people of Storybrooke who were once captivated by the dark curse.

"Not now, Ruby." David seethed, pushing the sword dangerously close to Regina's windpipe. David's blue eyes never left hers, as if silently daring her to stop him. He almost wish she would. To give him another reason to end her life. But what he didn't know is that she was had the same thoughts running through her mind. Why wouldn't she? She lost. The curse was broken. There was nothing left for in this world for her to love with Emma taking Henry away completely. Maybe she even wants to die.

"Do it!" She commanded. Always The Queen, even in her final moments, her words was a command. It was surprising that the edge of the King's sword didn't draw blood at her sudden words.

And just as he flexed his muscles to do so, Mary's voice stopped him.

"Wait."

All the attention turned to her. Mary Margaret. Snow White.

"Think about it. She isn't going anywhere, she lost"-Regina winced at the words-"and now we are probably going to do the same. Ruby is right. What happens after we kill her. We'll just be ending a life and I couldn't bare to stoop to her level." She explained.

David stared at her for a long moment. When he started to look like he would object, Emma spoke for the first time.

"Dude, listen to her."

Sighing in defeat, David took the sword away from Regina's throat. "Fine then. But If she tries anything…" David looked warningly at Regina who just laid there, staring back. "Oh no wonder they call you 'Charming'" She said, mockingly. Before David could raise his sword again, Emma cleared her throat which made him put it down again. Turning, he took Mary's hand and walked away from the group. Emma looked at Ruby who nodded at her. They walked on either side of Regina and pulled her off of the grounds by her arms.

"Careful now." Regina grunted.

"Please, your not in the position to deserve sympathy. Just be lucky we're letting you live." Emma replied. Regina glared at her then blew a strand of her short dark hair out of her face. And with that, Ruby and Emma dragged Regina away to town.
