"My friend, your desire. Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess." Genesis whispered against the silver haired man's skin, savoring the soft spicy exotic scent that man had always given off.
The auburn pressed his lips to Sephiroth's neck in an almost apologetic manner, ignoring the General's frown.
"Loveless at a time such as this?" the taller man reached up and ran his fingers aimlessly through the man's short hair, reveling in the almost silk like feel.
"It seemed fitting."
Sephiroth moved his hand from the hair to his chin and gently lifted the smaller man's gaze so that they could look at one another.
"You should know that I cannot return what you offer to me. I am not a creature that was made to love."
Genesis smiled back at the stoic man, losing himself slightly in the hypnotic blue-green eyes.
"Even if the morrow is barren of promises. Nothing shall forestall my return."
Sephiroth shook his head with a smile and brushed a thumb over Genesis' lips.
"Loveless Act five. You really should pick another book to memorize. Soon you will all have us quoting it."
Genesis looked away, "I would be fine with that. More wars should be fought with words. There would be more sense and less deaths."
"But then we would be out a job."
"I wouldn't be. I would finally best you, hero. I would beat you if the pen was truly mightier than the sword."
Sephiroth growled softly and pulled the man closer to him. "You best me in other ways. You don't need to best me on the battle field. However, I would care to point out that you used Loveless to avert my attention again."
The shorter man shifted slightly and slid his hands along his counterpart's sides.
"There was nothing to avert. I agree with the passage choice. I won't leave you simply because you won't love me in return."
"I can't love you in return. Not won't. I have no choice."
Genesis looked up at the great general, "You can't say "can't" because you have never tried."
