He didn't want to refuse the hunter, he didn't want to see pain or anger or bloodthirst in those forest eyes. It was unbelievable what amount of strength kept him from leaping at Dean and holding him tight, curling his now-furled wings around them to protect him from things like this…

But he had siblings dying, from the same garrison at that. And this strange emotion…? It couldn't grow now, couldn't be given any head. For now, he would shove it into a small crevice in his mind and save it until later-now he had a human to prepare.
